Great atmosphere, good food, free parking and a lot of gluten-free options available. There also a kids menu to make the little ones happy. Food standard /quality is good, service and staff are working so hard to make sure that you are happy with your meal. Price for main is between 14 and 25 pounds so not cheap but food quality and presentation are of a different standard. The Kids menu £8.50 does not include drinks (It would not cost much to the restaurant) Lots of flavours on display, some spices combinations or the quantity of them are questionable but it depends on your personal taste, we enjoyed it. No music or loud noise which is a plus nowadays, a restaurant where you can taste freshly cooked food and you can chat with the people sitting at your table. Good selection os spirits, mocktails, cocktails, whisky. We will definitely be back.

Great food, good variety and priced favourably for the standard . Comfortable cosy surroundings and excellent staff. A must visit country restaurant. A booking is a suggested at weekends and it was full this evening. Highly recommended this place.

Great service staff very welcoming.The lunch was great,overall a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere would advise to book first,also car space was limited.

Great starter of chilli chicken, then had pork belly which was very nice - there didn't seem to be any specials that evening, and the vegetarian choice was not as inspiring as it could be. Overall a good meal and nice to be out as a group.

My mother and I visited the restaurant last night, and had a wonderful experience. The decor was stunning, and the menu boasted a good variety of dishes featuring fresh, locally sourced produce. We were both really impressed with how fresh the food was, and how expertly each dish we ordered was crafted. Every plate was gorgeous, and delicious. Mum was particularly impressed with the chicken ballotine, with Stornoway white pudding, a handmade mini chicken Kiev, pearl barley and heritage carrots with a lovely thyme sauce. And she hasn't stopped talking about the dark chocolate ganache she had for dessert since we left last night! I was thoroughly pleased with my starter of scallops and langoustines with Stornoway black pudding, and my main of pork belly was also divine. The mille-feuille I had for dessert was delicious, and beautifully complimented by a white chocolate and whisky ice cream. We really cannot praise the food highly enough. The quality was outstanding, and very reasonably priced. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly and service was timely and warm. We will certainly be back!

Lovely Birthday 70th lunch for my dad. Great meal and the service was great.

We had dinner in this place that was near our hotel. It was steak night and therefore we ordered the plate of the day that was a yummy rib eye stick with lot of sides and a very good brandy sauce. We asked if it was possible to have some fruit out of the menu. They kindly gives us a nice and fresh mix fruit cup.

Just back from a fabulous lunch at Armstrong's Restaurant....superb from start to finish and would encourage anyone to have a visit here. Alison was superb in attending to our needs and made my parents Anniversary thoroughly enjoyable!
