Housed in the upscale University Arms Hotel in Cambridge, Parker's Tavern offers a casual yet refined charm that invites patrons to come in and enjoy dinner or drinks. I had a lovely cup of tea (Lapsang Souchong) in the evening here. Would love to visit again!

Best (and most interesting cocktails) in town. It’s expensive but worth it, this is the finest old fashioned I have had in years. The other is the perfect and unusual “Blushing Byron” which is a truly haunting drink. Add this to your itinerary!

I'm unsure of the restaurant's relationship with the hotel next door, but I'm glad it exists! We had the breakfast buffet here, and it was the best we've ever had. Very high quality food, attentive staff, lots of variety. Try the on-request porridge! We also came here for a couple of cocktails, and whilst expensive they were well made. They're unique drinks, with an intriguing list of ingredients, so worth trying at least once.

I came here for afternoon tea to celebrate Mother's Day and it was excellent! There was a little bit of a wait while they found our reservation but the staff were very kind and attentive. There was a decent selection of teas to choose from and the free from menu (offering gluten free, dairy free and/or vegan) looked just as good as the regular! The portions were generous (though there could have been more cream and jam) and the servers topped up our tea several times. All of the cakes and sandwiches were really tasty!I loved that the afternoon tea was Winnie The Pooh themed and I will definitely be returning to see what seasonal menus they come up with in the future. Would definitely recommend.

I had heard nothing but great reviews about Parkers Tavern and was very excited and had been wanting to go here for afternoon tea for a long time now. The perfect opportunity finally came and it was my baby shower with my family who had all visited from 200 miles away. Upon arrival we waited for about 6 minutes to be taken to our table. Our initial waitress was great but her shift ended soon after she took our order. From then on, it was disaster after disaster. Firstly, the table service was appalling, we were not attended to despite being promised to check in on top drinks and sandwiches... we had to call the waitress for follow up service. Sandwiches felt a little stale which we were happy to overlook if we had good table service and experience. After only being seated for 1.5 hours and we hadn't even finsihed our food they began to clear our table and bring us boxes to pack left over cakes. We felt rushed and it became apparent this was because they needed the table. We were not informed of this upon booking nor was it mentioned when confirming the booking 30 minutes before we arrived.Upon booking my sister in law also confirmed that there would be some sort of aknowledgement/ arrangement regarding it being my baby shower which they confirmed. This never happened. After we paid, i expressed my disappointment with the service and explained it was my baby shower at which point we got moved to the library to another table for some drinks. Whilst we were having drinks, a waitress came over with 2 plates to say "is it someone's birthday today".. no... then "someone celebrating an anniversary"... no. This was very embarrassing! She placed the plates on the table and said "ohhh, well please enjoy the truffle chocolates" and left. No apology, nothing! It was not a great experience.

What an absolute gem! We visited this place in 2021 during a day trip to Cambridge. If you are ever visiting Cambridge, I highly recommend PT for an amazing lunch.Food is excellent. My favourite dishes were Winter Wiltshire truffle risotto and Salmon. They have really good meat free selection as well. Don’t forget to order triple cooked chips for the side. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Wish they had a branch in London.Highly recommended!

Great cocktails & atmosphere in the bar. Food was really good to too, with a mixture of modern & elevated classics. Some of the dishes could have benefited from being a bit warmer when they reached us, but it was all about the ingredients & taste, which couldn't be faulted. All in all a wonderful way to spend an evening with friends.

Had a lovely Festive Afternoon Tea at Parker's Tavern on New Year's Eve. The afternoon tea is in the Library, which is nice since it's a quieter and cozier space than the main restaurant. The festive tweaks to the normal afternoon tea menu were inventive and cute and everything was delicious. Would definitely recommend!

Salubrious surroundings and interesting food and drinks options, but with a quiet weekday lunch service i was surprised it should take 1.5 hours for two courses.Wait staff are friendly but could help the cause by plying diners with more attention, which would help the business to a higher turnover and lead to happier, if not just inebriated, customers. On the face of it a decent offering (and expensive), but lots of room for improvement to reach 5 stars.

We had booked a table for 6. 45 pm and arrived on time. We were kept waiting ( standing ) in the reception area for 10 min till we were shown to a table. We requested a window table ( vacant) when we were then taken to our table but were politely declined. That table remained vacant for the duration of our meal. There were plenty of waiting staff but seemed overwhelmed and confused. Drinks were lovely. Food ( risotto, tart, sea bass) was really good except for the truffle risotto which was quite under done than we would have liked. Dessert ( Eton mess and chocolate mousse) was lovely but we had to wait over 30 minutes after ordering it for it to arrive at the table. All in all the service let the restaurant down and it did not turn out as a special dining experience for us as we would have hoped for the price paid. Bit disappointed overall.
