Good place for overnight hgv parking. Foods a bit pricey, but best gravy n chips i ever had

We've been before and enjoyed the experience.This time they had a sign saying that they were "staying as take-away only" due to covid. Almost everywhere else has opened to a nearly normal level of operation.So with a 320 mile drive ahead of us we had to sit in our car and have our food and cuppas.The standard of the food has dropped as well unfortunately. The usually good bacon roll was clearly made with cheaper (fattier) bacon and the rolls had almost no butter/marg on them.Might try again later this year, but if they are still take-away only we won't be ordering!

No sit in dining yet which is fair enough. Shop seems filled with just a mixture of everything and most items had no price tickets. Then had a chip buttie to take away. Asked if I wanted butter on the roll and she barely tickled it with the knife. I've wiped more butter off my lips with a napkin!! Roll was therefore extremely dry. Chips were obviously frozen cheapie chips. Coffee was nice though.

This place is immaculate. The staff are so friendly and kind. The food is first class. Takeaway only just now but worth a stop by.

My visit was on 31/08/2021 and I've got to admit it was quite a good visit.When I arrived there was plenty of places to park on the gravel parking area.Also when I went inside to query how much overnight parking would be for my truck I was surprised with the cost. Staff were friendly and helpful and were quite eager to serve me. For 1 night, parking was only £5, this surprised me as the majority of service areas tend to charge 4 to 5 times that price. Also there was a £25 option and this included £20 in food and drink vouchers. Once I had paid for my parking I was offered the usual goodbye and goodnight greetings. The store was quite well stocked and there was also a wide variety of hot and cold food to buy. Also the connected garage was also well stocked with a wide assortment off food, drink, gifts and accessories. Staff in the garage were also very pleasant. The toilet facilities in the restaurant and garage were both clean and tidy but only the bathroom in the garage was open overnight.Overall an enjoyable visit and I will certainly be coming back in the future.I would like to thank all the staff for the excellent service service provided during my visit.
