The Town House Hotel Bar & Bistro in Angus

Staff were very attentive and helpful. Nice surroundings. I chose highlander from the menu, chicken, haggis. A lovely diversion from the boring steak and chips stuff. Would have got a 5 but they had run out sticky toffee pud. Inexcusable faux par by the chef!

Absolutely loved this hotel, prime location, beautiful and tasteful furnishing and an awesome shower! Staff and breakfast were wonderful, particularly Shannon. Only negative was mattress being awful and when travelling long distance and needing a pit stop a good night's sleep is essential. I would highly recommend this hotel and I will be checking the mattress as soon as I arrive!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Townhouse hotel. The room and food were fantastic. But the staff deserves the highest praise. They do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Monica - The Netherlands

Lovely meal with friends. Great choice of meals at reasonable prices. Staff could not have been more attentive. Would definitely recommend a visit.

The whole experience from start to finish was in my eyes, made perfect by Susan. I called early before arrival, she helped with directions for parking, we arrived early to have a coffee before we checked in and she was fantastic in helping us check in, giving us directions and information to help us. In the morning she was a delight to us while having breakfast. Will definitely be back again.Thank you Susan

I popped in with a friend. We ordered fish and chips with peas. Noticeably the chips and peas were from frozen and the fish was very poor. Chips and the fish were cooked in an oil that tasted terrible. Had one bite and that was enough for me. I left with a full plate and my friend covered hers with sauces so she couldn't taste the oil. Very disappointed and I paid full price. My friend and I won't be back.Response from the owner.Don't be silly Sandra Susan asked you multiple times if you wished your dish changed as she noticed you were agitated. This review wouldn't be anything to do with the fact you were asked to wear a face mask during your entry to the premises would it? Pretty pathetic but not surprising given your attitude this morning. Don't disparage us just because you didn't wish to follow guidelines.Best to find other venues to try and dodge the regulations. I hope you find what you're looking for in the future.Most readers will see right through this poorly written jibe at our business. We feel our other reviews represent us fairly over the last 9 years.I was flabbergasted by the owners lies through the response back.I wrote this back.I am SHOCKED with the response from the owner replying to my review.I hope there is cameras to show my friend and I entering the premises with full face mask covering ON!!!!!I have never or will dodge regulations as the owner put it. I am appalled with the lies and I will not be LIED about.To stoop this low to cover up my review speaks volumes.I am furious!!!!!This is now what the owner has responded.Best to find other venues to try when so unfairly displeased. accomodation was nice enough at the price, food and service were excellent, breakfast was all quality ingredients well cooked and served, and I love my breakfasts. Seems to be the place to go at night too, the place was buzzing, great range of coctails, 12 for £50, that's a great deal. I'll be back 😊😊

Was a joy to stay in this place. The rooms were clean, tidy, comfortable and the hotel situated very centrally, close to everything, including transport hubs and attractions. The food was also excellent. However, Susan and the rest of the staff were the best thing about this hotel. They simply cannot do enough for you. At a time when we're encouraging staycations, they certainly showed Arbroath in a good light. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

The food is delicious and a good price, but what really makes the Townhouse special is the staff! You’re always greeted with a warm welcome and the staff really go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your visit.Susan, especially, is an absolute asset to the team, she seen I was struggling with my toddler and newborn so entertained the toddler for a few minutes. Then noticed I was feeding the baby when our meals arrived, so asked if she could cut my toddlers food up for me. She turned a stressful lunch into an enjoyable experience for me. Thank you!
