Am Birlinn in Argyll & Bute

Absolutely lovely restaurant. We loved lunch here. I'd recommend you call ahead and carefully look at the opening times, but the food was excellent and the service was beyond welcoming. To say we were lucky to find this place would be an understatement.

Absolutely amazing food. We were so impressed after our first visit that we immediately booked two more meals there! Good service, great kids menu, lovely artwork and a raspberry cranachan cheesecake to die for. Thanks, Am Birlinn!

Great food, friendly service staff highly recommended

Very friendly staff and a good menu. The food was tasty and freshly prepared.I was a bit put off because our table had crumbs and sugar from the previous customers, so obviously they had forgotten to wipe it. There were also crumbs on the window ledge next to me, so hoping that the kitchen had better hygiene standards.

If you're on Mull, you need to go here. IT IS WORTH THE TRAVEL! A lovely setting with option to sit indoors or outdoors. Staff are very friendly. Food is incredible. Between us all we had steak, fish, and a burger and all of it was delicious. (The sticky toffee pudding also gets a special recommendation). Exceptionally high quality service and standard, but without feeling at all snooty or pretentious. We will most definitely back. Probably the best steak I've ever had!

Absolutely awesome. What a stunning building that serves food to match. The menu is creative and has something for all appetites. The quality of the food is outstanding, my lamb melted in my mouth. Freshly cooked with local food by an extrenely talented chef. He must be well on his way to a michelin star if he has not already got one.The service was super friendly and aided the dining experience. 100% recommend this restaurant and assure you that you will not be disappointed. It can be followed by a lovely walk on Calgary beach to top off a great experience.

Visited for dinner twice during our ten day Mull stay. Am Berlinn was very good and shouldn't disappoint.Service during our first visit was slightly "scattergun" but on our second visit we were taken care of by a young man who was extremely attentive...to the point where he knew which of us was eating what - before putting our plates on the table. He didn't need to ask.."who's having the mussels?"He had his eye on the room at all times. Well done!Food here though, I thought was kept simple, but superb. Let the freshness of the ingredients speak for themselves!

Large airy restaurant which is usually busy as there is little competition even in Tobermory. Seafood is great, langoustines were the best we’ve had. Cullen Skink was thick and hearty as it should be. I had the mussels and Adele had lamb terrine. Crannachan for dessert. Plenty of car parking so you cannot miss this.

Phenomenal food - came here on a Wednesday night and ended up booking to go back the very next day. First time had scallops to start and then slow cooked pork. The second time had a pork terrine to start and then red mullet for main. My other half also had langoustine, mussels and boar sausages over the two meals. The seafood was particularly tasty and fresh. 100% would recommend. Staff also super friendly and down to earth
