We visited the Ardencaple tonight for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Always one of our favourite places, but we have not been out for meals since the start of the Covid pandemic. Our meal was lovely, good quality fresh food and generous portions. Felt very comfortable and relaxed, bar and serving staff were very friendly and attentive, Thank you.

Sign outside said coffee and cake £3.49.Waitresss saidmocakebut could give a mini pudding instead some chose cheesecake. It was tiny but lovely.Paid the bill and was charged £4.49 each .I queriesd this and was told mini pudding more expensive.I thought this was unfair as waitress didn't tell us this and the barman said no cake at present .I told him he should take his sign down then.I left however as my husband was leaving the barman called him over and gave him £3 cash back.Well done.We did have a lovely coffee and cheesecake and will come back now as menu looks good.

Back for meal after 6 months previously, was awful back then..waited ages for meal after asking 3 times. got it wasn't great at all, cold and some over cooked than asked for. Disappointed for sons 21st family meal all round after spending quite a bit that night..😡 glad to say so much better now...food great service grt too there's a new chef also seemingly so well done...back to what it was like while back as we often frequented for meals..

Went there last year, very nice pub, dog friendly, haven't used the hotel. Great view of the river from outside seating. Planning to go there next time I'm in Scotland.

Staff are friendly and have a lot to contend with . Their dedication and hard work will not go unseen. They are in need of more support from their employer. Staff work in an environment that is slowly deteriorating causing them to divert from their front of house duties dealing with complaints about poor heating or too much heating that can't be regulated in the rooms . Water pumps making horrendous noises through the night is another issue . I noticed a hole in the wall at reception that a dog or child could crawl into. The place is becoming run down which is a shame. CAN'T fault front of house kitchen or house keeping. The issue is lack of investment for repairs and Maintenance. It's an unnecessary strain on staff . I wasn't happy with any of the two rooms, I was in during my stay on the 31st of Dec 2021James Frame

Great place to sit in the evening summer sun.Very extensive menu. The haggis fritters were great for a starter.. lovely with the peppercorn sauce. The salmon salad was delicious, and the salad dressing was very tasty. I'll definitely be back to try something else.Prices are very reasonable too!Went back again for a birthday meal with a group of around 30. Service was good, if a little slow. Again, I had the haggis fritters for starters, and then had the duo of seafood which was just OK. The chocolate fondant for dessert was delicious though!!

Lively pub just down the road from the marina, plenty of seating inside & out, cocktails where not freshly made they came from the tap but surprisingly tasted nice.

Worst food experience ever. 3 uncooked plates. Sent them back. The chef must be blind he can't cook eggs and I'll just post this disgraceful picture of what he calls eggs Benedict. He even sent out black burnt toast. Two fried eggs that were raw. This is one of those restaurants Gordan Ramsey should be screaming at the chef calling him an idiot sandwich.
