Ben Cruachan Inn in Argyll & Bute

Absolutely love this place. I book here whenever we go fishing on the Loch. Cameron and the staff were amazing. Nothing was ever too much. Couldn't recommend Inn enough. The rooms above the restaurant are great. I have stayed in the self catering before too and they were spot on.We ate here twice and both times the food was incredible.

Most importantly they have the right staff serving this delightful inn/restaurant. We were so happy after our first visit to the restaurant yesterday, that we had to return today. Food was amazing and drinks were super. Decent price on food 👌 and I 1000% Recommend. Paul and Cameron are FANTASTIC!!

We stayed nearby and went for dinner on a Sunday evening. What a gem of a place! Considering it has no competition it could make no effort at all but the opposite is true. Staff were really friendly and attentive, food was delicious and very reasonably priced and there was a good selection of drinks, all in cosy surroundings. The fried macaroni cheese is a must to try and the seafood special of crab linguine was sublime. A lovely evening we’d love to repeat some time!

I had a 2 hours to wait for my train back to Glasgow and I decided to spend it here on the balcony. The staff were so friendly in a honest way, it didn't feel like it was being put on. They all seemed so happy and made my short stay here really memorable. The kitchen was fully booked (which speaks volumes for how good the food must be) so I only had drinks but I will definitely come back here the next time I find myself up this way!

I went to the restaurant twice for dinner during my stay at Craig Villa Guesthouse.The food was really delicious, I am very glad that I followed the tip of the waiter on the first evening and took the daily special, very tasty. In general, the service was very fast and always very friendly and personal. It was really fun to watch. Especially the young man (who had recommended me the daily special) has attended to guests with an enthusiasm that one has felt really welcome.

Ben Cruachan Inn is set back from the road and overlooking Loch Awe. There was plenty of parking and the building looked like it had just been refurbished with both the common areas and the rooms looking excellent. Our room was actually an apartment with a cooker and separate kitchen (no fridge though) as well as the bedroom and bathroom. It was fantastically quiet and well thought out and in hindsight we should have stayed a couple of days instead of just the one. The staff were exceptional too, not fawning but just keen to do a good job.The dinner was superb – beetroot hummus with focaccia followed by hake with gnochi – absolutely delicious. Had a cider too just to put me 1500 over my calories for the day as I’d done nothing other than driving, I did manage to refuse dessert though. It was nice to sit down in a civilised environment and unwind. Deb thought so too after 3 large glasses of wine! We had a great breakfast at the hotel, listening to the birds singing and looking at the view over Loch Awe.

We stopped here for a bite to eat after a day of travelling, it’s pet friendly so we were able to bring our little doggy onto the terrace. We ordered the Chowder, Veggie sandwich and some chips. I have to say that the Veggie sandwich was brilliant, one of the best I’ve ever had. It was hummus, beetroot, pickled veg, honestly delicious! I will attempt to make it at home but I know it won’t be as good.My partner had the chowder and said it was tasty, it was a small portion but had plenty of fish and flavour. Also a lovely view and nicely decorated interior. Staff where very friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel with open bar. Not the cheapest but everything is very fine and clean. Just had dinner at a reasonable price. Checking in is from 4 pm but they let me do the paper work when I arrived so I didn't had to bother with that. I also was allowed to leave the car at the car park while I went for a walk.

Fantastic food, beautiful views and very friendly staff. Whilst out for a drive we stopped in for a bar meal and some soft drinks. As soon as we were through the door we were greeted by the friendly and happy barmaid. We selected to sit outside on the balcony and ordered some drinks and some food. Nice simple menu my partner ordered the grilled halloumi and I ordered the Cruachan Burger both were brought to the table in around 5 mins both freshly made and piping hot.y burger was cooked to perfection full of flavour and juicy to the very last bite. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and wouldn’t think twice about recommending this place to friends, family and anyone else looking to have something tasty to eat in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
