Ben Lora Cafe in Argyll & Bute

Incredibly rude, bought a cake and asked to use the bathroom and was dealt with by an incredibly condescending manager wanna be, arguing my face covering wasn't acceptable. (law stated sufficient face covering of nose and mouth or mask)Instead of offering me an alternative to this she decided to just continue to be an offence to hospitality staff around the world. I work in hospitality and have never felt so talked down to and belittled. They have staff shortages at the moment, wouldn't surprise me if it was because no one can work with her. Seriously, find a new occupation and check the law that you so love to recite.

Fantastic cafe, been going there for over a decade. Excellent scones and lunch menus. Would recommend the pizza nights!

Have been travelling up to Benderloch weekly for the last few months and finally got to try Ben Lora Cafe. One member of staff (the wasp catcher) was very nice and couldn't be more helpful but was very disappointed in the food we ordered. Brie and cranberry toastie was not toasted and had more of a raspberry jam than cranberry sauce and it came with...... 2 crisps!!Seriously, no salad and actually only 2 crisps. £4.60 for a jammy piece!! Come on, put the price up to £4.95 and give us some nice salad!!

Staff couldn't have worked harder. Very friendly and helpful despite being rushed off their feet due to staff shortages. Kids loved the milkshakes 😋

We visited this lovely café for lunch and some coffee before hiking up Beinn Laoighre (Ben Lora). Tasty food, quick service and friendly staff. Their toilet facilities were clean and indoors. Would definitely go again![Good Covid measures: Staff wore facemasks, the tables were spaced well apart from each other, and there were plenty of hand sanitizer available to visitors.]I would also recommend the pink and blue grocery store across the road if you're looking for kindling, toiletries, car services, or grocery essentials.There is also a recycling station, some benches and good parking opportunities. A great pit stop for car tourists, cyclists and campers.The Ben Lora hike is an excellent day activity which will still leave you with plenty of energy left by the end. The track is mostly dirt road or grassy hillside, so not too scrambly. When you get to the top you'll get a 360° view which is well worth the moderate climb. The trek is about 10km, and we got to the top and back in ca. 2 hours and 15 mins.

Appreciate it's difficult times, but this place has lost its appeal, hope it comes back stronger, they charged £2:20 for a 2x2 inch piece of almond slice which I thought was daylight robbery. Sorry guys will re review if we come back

Lovely friendly staff who were very covid conscious. Hot lattes and nice Cake. Just a shame about the grumpy scottish boss who was very rude with his staff! You won't keep friendly staff if you treat them like that!!

I make a special detour to this cafe every time I'm in Argyll and Bute. You cannot beat the hot chocolate, Mars Krispie cakes, and the cheese and tuna sweetcorn toasties!

Just love this little cafe after a walk on Trailee beach. Food is fantastic and the staff are so hard working..
