One of the best meals I have had out in a long time. Incredibly friendly staff, including making sure our dog was suitably supplied with treats! Haggis bon bons for starters were superb. Onglet steak for main, 1st time I have ever had Onglet which from reading about can be a nightmare to cook, however absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection, soft as a fillet taste of heaven! Rest of the family loved their food Hake amazing, kids burger best burger ever according to my 9yr old daughter! Cheese plus wine for desert completed this amazing culinary experience. Everything as local as can be, Brie, Cheddar and Blue all from Scotland and they were to die for. The crispbreads accompanying were clearly homemade which is such a great touch. Well done guys amazing place, and anyone staying within a 45 min drive should make the effort, you will not be disappointed.

The Colintraive Hotel couldn't have been more welcoming. We were a large group of 14adults, 6children and 2 babies. Due to group size, we were asked to pre order our meals. Which was ideal because we didn't need to wait too long on arrival.Nothing was a problem. The room we were in was perfect for the restless legs of kiddies or to feed babies, as it had a couple of sofas and some board games etc. Ideal!!The food was absolutely amazing. The starters we had ranged from langoustines to risotto. Mains ranged from ox cheek to fish and chips. Deserts ranged from ice cream to apple crumble. Not one meal would I say was anything less than 5⭐!!The service was friendly, prompt and very professional. We even got to congratulate our waiter on becoming an uncle for the first time while we were there. It was wonderful. The setting is gorgeous, views were amazing. Amazing value for money. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the area. Thanks so much.

Very nice friendly family run hotel. Our room was recently renovated and very spacious and comfortable. Food is excellent and there's a decent selection of well kept local beers in the bar. What more could you want? Highly recommended.

Great food and great atmosphere - so easy to get to from Bute. We really enjoyed our lunch here, great brownies for desert too.

Absolutely spectacular. One of the finest meals I've ever eaten. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate my wife, who is vegan. All good cooked absolutely fresh, and to an extremely high standard. On the upper end of the scale, price wise, but absolutely worth every penny.

We arrived starving and exhausted after scaling the mountains of Argyle on bikes. The Colintraive Hotel took us in on a busy evening and made sure we got six of the most delicious fish and chips and pints of Tennants extremely quickly! They helped us find a fab local campsite. Lovely staff, beautiful garden and great food.

Lovely hotel with large warm rooms. Our room faced the water which was beautiful! The hotel appears to be dog friendly, which is fantastic! We’ll definitely be coming back with our furry friend. The staff were all amazing and attentive. The local area has a nice community feel with a beautiful community garden just down the road from the hotel. The food at the hotel was very good. Portion sizes were perfect, the food was beautifully presented and staff matched a great wine with our fish dish for us!From the hotel, just 5 minutes walk away is a ferry to Isle of Bute, super convenient for those who’ve come to the area to explore the landscape or go on long walks!

We had a brilliant short stay at The Colintraive, and ate there for dinner. The menu was excellent, and food delicious. Fresh and wholesome portions. Our room was spectacular, and very well furnished to a high quality. The bed was enormous, there was a cafetiere and fresh shortbread! Couldn't fault it, and wish the owners the best of luck!
