Nice little place in a lovely setting. The staff were friendly. My room was spacious but could do with a little modernisation. The food was excellent from a perfectly cooked fish and chips to massive portions of tasty mussels. Take a walk along the towpath outside on a nice evening and its well worth a visit to Cairnbaan.

Disapointing food. Just cheap pub grub I suspect bought in ready cooked.

Lovely hotel. Good food and good sized portions. Very quick service. Covid conscious.

Service a bit of a let down.. the young boy that brought our food over just placed the plates down at the side of our table... not a lot of desserts available on the menu.. ordered what was meant to be cheesecake, didn't look or taste like cheesecake... barman very friendly pleasant & chatty...

Have eaten here twice this week and probably will again, the food was good and served quite quickly , Real Ale was in perfect condition from loch lomond.

I found this to be quite a lovely spot .A lovely building located right on the canal with great views and walks around. My guest and I found the food to be excellent (especially the mussels). Service was a little slow but this seemed to be down to the majority of the wait staff being new whilst the more senior staff members were seemingly happy to hide behind the bar. I'm sure service will improve when the new guys find their feet.

We had a big room on the ground floor, which was clean and comfortable. Remember to ask for a key to the outside door if you are going out, we didn't and had a problem getting in at 10.45 pm. Good breakfast although it took longer than usual, about an hour, which was fine for us but might be frustrating if you are on business. We enjoyed a fantastic musical evening with Archie MacAllister on fiddle and Sileas Sinclair on accordion and keyboard, and she also sang some beautiful Gaelic songs. It would be worth staying at Cairnbaan hotel for this reason alone if you like traditional Scottish music.
