Duart Castle Tearoom in Argyll & Bute

Duart castle was a fantastic stop on our journey. There were areas inside the castle faithfully recreated to look the way they did in the early days including bathrooms, bedrooms, banquet rooms etc. One of the great things about the castle is the views to the Scottish mainland and Loch Linnhe, really, on a nice day the views are unrivalled. Another great aspect of this castle unlike others is your ability to take photographs of the interior spaces. Some others prohibit photography bit here you are free to take as many as you like.The entry was around £10 for an adult with parking on site along with toilets and a lovely little tea room.Well worth visiting.

Fabulous place not too expensive to enter, fully of history all well documented.Really enjoyed our visit.

Beautiful castle, beautiful staff! The area is spectacular and the food and drinks in the tea room are delicious! The gift shop offers lots of wonderful items and I love the history of the castle and the clan! Definitely one of my favorite places and memories! Can't wait to return!

Great place to visit when touring Mull, better check opening times first though. You can walk around the grounds even when the castle is closed which is nice. Visit if you can and remember to leave a donation if you visit out of hours.

Very interesting historical location that is worth a visit and the low entry fee. The rooms are well explained and guides are on hand to answer questions. Then follow up with a visit to the tea room and enjoy a light lunch or afternoon tea.

Geniously located castle whose owner is trying really hard to reconstruct it. If you can support this effort, please, do. It's also worth visiting the exhibition on the inside and truly lovely tea room just under the castle.

The castle was closed and is only open Sunday- Wednesday, however you can still visit the external grounds. Also there are some great views over to Lismore Lighthouse, Sound of Mull & towards Loch Linnhe. It is currently going through restoration work so there is scaffolding around most of the building. There is a white tailed sea eagle nest nearby. Never saw anything but heard them calling, worth keeping an eye out for them.
