Hawthorn Cottage in Argyll & Bute

Ate here this evening with my husband. Excellent food,great value and large portions. Highly recommend this restaurant. Lovely friendly staff

Had the Cajun chicken and the girlfriend had the burger which she rated as overpriced and lacking extras. The chicken was nicely cooked and the staff were nice. Inside was very dim lit however the decour with coins on the walls was bizarre the beer price was more than affordable. Don't go in expecting the world but also decent place.

We visited here a few years ago and had an extraordinary meal. This year we returned and although the food was good it just wasn't special anymore. So sad nothing on the menu you couldn't make at home and a huge amount of burgers. If you pay a lot of money you expect special. Sorry this did not live up to previous standards this week.

Enjoyed a lovely meal at the Hawthorn Restaurant tonight along with family. Tam still excels at Highland Mushrooms, best I have ever had anywhere. Very friendly, happy atmosphere, excellent service. Thank you Mary-Ann, Tam and Rachel.

Superb place. The staff are great and very welcoming. Nothing was a problem. Dog friendly - outside - and very caring about dogs with water provided. The human food was beautifully prepared and the service was faultless. A great night 😊

A great evening meal. Garlic mushroom starter and the Hawthorn Chicken were especially. Friendly staff and atmosphere.

Not many healthy choices so I had to order two appetizers which were not bad. Loved the oatcakes with smoked salmon and salad. The mushrooms with cheese were a bit too salty. Great customer service. The ladies toilet door is a sliding door and barely works, it was so hard to close and open that door. Very nice inside decor.

This place is a great place to have something to eat. The owner is very sweet and attentive and the food there is very good

Basic but good food. We had the steak pie which had a LOT of puff pastry which tasted nice but was a little bit bland. Very friendly staff.
