Kebabish Curry House in Argyll & Bute

I wouldn’t normally leave a poor review but the meal we received tonight was not up to standard. We ordered garlic naan, received plain both of which were not cooked properly. Curry was oily and far to many onions. Even my poppadoms were burnt. I gave a 3 star for the rice and pakora which were nice.

Me and my fiancé ordered a pepporoni pizza, chicken tikka wrap and chicken tikka nachos, the pizza was burnt on top but the dough was raw and soggy, the meat on the tikka wrap was dry and reheated definitely not freshly cooked and was no salad, when arrived it was dropping in oil and the nachos were burnt and had no flavour. And our order took almost 2 hours to be delivered

Chips and curry sauce; Undercooked French fries and horrible lumpy curry sauce. Donner kebab; greasy (expected) but small amount of donner meat. Wouldn't recommend, staff weren't very friendly

Completely tasteless food. We order vegetarian pizza and got half cooked pizza included only 3 topping and plenty of sauce

Great halal food with friendly service. Food was cooked to perfection and tasted authentic. Wide variety of dishes available to cater to every taste. Very fresh too. The naan was cooked with soy milk as opposed to dairy and therefore suitable for vegans. Shows the level of care taken by the owners and staff.

Took 10 minutes before they even acknowledged I was standing there and then proceeded to charge me £9 for a double cheese burger with donner. I asked them why they charged me the extra for chips as I didn't want them and never ordered them, they told me that's how they ring through the donner meat. I thought it was a bit odd as they had a donner burger on their menu and even with chips, it was cheaper than £9. Waited outside as it was very crowded inside, and get given what I ordered and told that the chips were on the house. They obviously weren't as I had been outright charged for them. Won't ever be going back, they are pure thieves.

Ordered what I thought was going to be a double doner burger off the 'burger' menu. Waited 30 minutes and paid £9.50 (including another cheese burger). Drove 20 minutes back to where we're staying and opened the box to this?

Paid £9 for a lamb shaslik naan kebab. To start, I was charged 5p for a plastic bag without even asking me if I want one (I only realized after looking at the receipt), and when given the food (which was strangely inside a pizza box) it was handed to me without a bag, and was given a strange look when demanded a bag. What's very strange is the fact that the government imposed bag charge covers only supermarkets, never seen a takeaway charge money for bags. When getting home and opening the box, I found quite a small portion of very dry pieces of lamb with some lettuce, on top of a huge naan bread. Although the flavour was nice, when I bit into it I almost lost my teeth because of how hard it was! The lamb has been clearly cooked in advance and only reheated once I ordered it! I should've figured that out, since it was given to me less than 5 mins after ordering. You can get a much better meal in Oban for this kind of money, better portions too. Complete tourist tip off! Will never return, only came here because the popular fish and chip shop nearby was closed due to it being the New Years day. From now on, whenever ordering takeaway I'll try the food first before leaving because if I had done so today I would've demanded a refund! Reviews don't lie, from my experience you can't usully expect much from a place that has a lower than 4 star average rating. And it this case, the worst thing is these people are simply not genuine. Taking advantage of the fact that they have very little competition in this small town. Never prioritize the speed of service over food quality!

Brilliant, can't fault it. The food was lovely served hot and brought by friendly attentive staff. Restraunt was clean and food was reasonably priced. Hubby is very fussy and won't eat anything out of the ordinary. This restraunt caters for all tastes. He enjoyed his burger, leaving us to enjoy our curry. Will be back again on our next special date.

Asked the man behind the counter if it was possible to make the small munchy box vegetarian, and he said yes. Went back to the hostel to find a quarter of the box filled with lamb. The only reason this is a 2-Star review and not a 1-Star one is because the food (as mediocre as it was) was relatively cheap given the amount we got.
