Kilchrenan Inn in Argyll & Bute

We had a wonderful overnight stay. Lovely room, great bed, great food and lovely staff! Highly recommended and we hope to come back someday.

In a lovely location, bar beautifully decorated and refurbished tastefully to a very high standard. A warm welcome from friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food was superb, beautifully cooked and presented. Very relaxed but also efficient no over long wait between courses and excellent selection of drinks too. This was my birthday dinner and it was a real treat and a pleasure to be there so thank you all .

We enjoyed a superb meal commencing with a lovely smoked fish board, followed by rump of lamb and a home made rabbit pie with seasonal vegetables, this was finished with vodka infused lemon sorbet. Relaxed atmosphere inside and cosy vibe we enjoyed an excellent bottle of wine wine with the meal and some great whisky advice from a gentleman who I assume was the manager. It’s in a truly beautiful setting with a great outdoor area for when the weather suits, all in we spent £88 including wine and great whisky,. Highly recommend.

Nicely situated with really nice decor. Really enjoyed this place. Loved the vibe. Chilled out, stress free. Came for lunch, I imagine they have a different menu on for dinner but the lunch menu IS basic, but it was fine and very reasonably priced. I did email to ask to see their menus as they were not online but nobody replied which is a shame and did annoy me a little but I understand emails can fall through the cracks. There is a lovely atmosphere in the bar, they've gone for a quaint but modern feel, it's very tasteful. Service was great so we did leave a tip. I can't comment on my fiancé's food but she said she enjoyed it. As for my plate, I had the burger. It was very dry, certainly not inedible but noticeably not juicy. I feel like this may be down to the quality of the burgers themselves rather than the cooking so didn't complain, and honestly, it tasted fine. The chips DID seem like the frozen skin on oven chips I have seen in various shops but again, tasted fine. The bun could have done with being toasted and the coleslaw tasted shop-bought too. Overall, I really enjoyed this place and I will definitely be back. The burger was a bit of a let down but there was nothing actually wrong with it. It just didn't really tick any boxes. I won't have the burger again but I would love to try the evening menu to see what's what. My one criticism would be the quality of products being put on the plate. They're not terrible but definitely not standout either. Keep in mind though, that I'm only basing this on a burger from the lunch menu and I'm looking forward to coming back. Thank you! 😊

What a superb choice for a place to stay on our road trip. Nestled away in the countryside up from loch awe, Kilchrenan Inn is the perfect Inn to stay for a couple of nights, eat some good food, have a few pints and explore the surrounding area. The breakfast was superb and the staff were incredibly welcoming. Whenever someone asks me where to visit or stay in Scotland when visiting, this will be right up there as a must.Thanks Pip and team!

We always visit the Kilchrenan Inn when we stay in Taynuilt. Went last night and as always was fabulous. It is a cosy and welcoming place tastefully decorated. It was full and has a relaxed friendly atmosphere. The staff are lovely and the food is excellent. Highly recommend it and look forward to our next visit. Thanks again guys.

We discovered this little gem of a place by taking a wrong turn, but what a find. By far one of my favie places we have ever eaten. The food is amazing, so fresh and tasty whatever you order. The staff are always so friendly and ready with suggestions on how to make your choices even better, extremely knowledgableHave returned several times since out little discovery and cannot wait to have more meals, and make more memories here

Great walk, finishing at Kilchrenan Inn. Such a warm, cosy pub and great food. Friendly staff and first rate service. Well worth a visit 100% recommended.

Areal gem and can't recommend enough. Excellent choice of local produce superbly cooked. Lovely atmosphere and really friendly and attentive staff. Finally excellent value for money. All round 10/10 thankyou
