A really lovely place to visit. Unfortunately the house isn't open at the moment but just walking around the grounds was a very relaxing experience. The grounds are massive with plenty to see including fern trees from New Zealand in the Tree Fern Wood area.

Fabulous tour of the stunning Mount Stuart house. The guides were very knowledgeable but I would like to single out one guide in particular. I have forgotten her name but she used to work for the marquise and was the guide in the great hall. She was so enthusiastic and passionate and a real asset to the team.

We only had a brief visit to property. It's certainly very grand, attractive looking and opulent, it's a shame as a society that only a very few people are able to have such luxurious property.I'm glad members of our party decided to stay back as the lose stone paving isn't very friendly for those who are mobility challenged, never-mind wheelchair users.I can never understand why anyone with a hint of commonsense would consider it a quality solution..We decided not to visit the interior for various reasons (paving being one) and made our way back.If celebrating the privileged class floats your boat you'll have a fabulous time, and the family will very much appreciate your contribution to their family wealth.I can also admire the craftsmanship, and skilled quality work by fellow workers, unfortunately we will probably not know who's hard work dressed the Stone, or plumbed the heating for the indoor pool, the team who first wired up electricity for the first time.3/5

Didn't go in the house has had the dogs with me but with 300 acres of grounds there is plenty of walks to do. I headed down to the shore walk, which was beautiful and got to see some seals. Lovely views from the shore which was half sand and half shingle

We've been to alot of old houses, and although this one looks old, it's actually not.Saying that, it's absolutely my favourite. A full day just isn't enough to take it all in.We parked in the overflow car park, which gave us a good walk to the houseThe guides are brilliant, located in each of the key areas of the house. The staff in general were brilliant. My favourite piece within the whole house was a small table within the drawing room - see if you can spot it, it's stunning, along with a surprising historyLots of unmissable features. The Chapel and central hall were absolutely stunning. After the house we walked onto the wee garden, this in itself was beautiful with a magnolia I've never seen before. Huge flowers with a lovely fragrance.Nice walk down to the beach and then up through the pinetum and kitchen garden to the car park completed our day. We've never been to an old house more than once, but we'll be back to this one, too much to take in all at once.Hope you enjoy itFood was also great i

The building is fantastic, the staff are brilliant with their explanations and really bring it to life. A beautiful property, notably the first in Scotland with a lift, heated swimming pool, and telephone system. Really worth the visit. Also very good disabled set up and wheelchair access, thanks to the lift.

One of our favourite places to go. This is our 2nd visit and we'll worth the trip. The house is amazing. Lots of intricate detail and beautiful rooms. The gardens are beautiful.

Beautiful grounds, modern and well run cafe, one of the highlights of Bute. We walked around the gardens and had a picnic in the kitchen garden. We could've spent half a day wandering the grounds. Also a great places to cycle on the gravel paths. Sadly, the building was still closed. We look forward to returning when things reopen later in the summer.
