Oban Seafood Hut in Argyll & Bute

Super fresh and very affordable no frills seafood in the middle of Oban! Oysters are a must. Grand platter full of luscious sweet seafood comes highly recommended.

If you ever get the chance to travel Scotland. You must visit Oban and visit Scotlands famous Local seafood Stall. Called the Green shack. Just located near the train station and ferry dock. Friendly owner. Let's you try before you buy. Cooks fresh to order. We visited all the way from Sheffield.

Best place for freshest and reasonably priced seafood in the town. The oysters were huge and only £1.20 each for example. They were also handing out free samples of mussels cooked in white wine and garlic.

Thank you Munchies for recommending this place. We were in the middle of our road trip and specifically popped into Oban for this place. Arrived around 11am on a Monday (Easter weekend). Right after we placed our order, a queue started so thankfully we got there in time! There are only 2-3 long standing tables so it's not a sit down meal.Everything was mighty fresh. Not overcooked, not drowning in sauce. They were dishing out free mussel samplers too, but there was already so many mussels in our platter for 2 pax (we opted the one without scallops and lobster).Estimated cost: 2 pax platter (without scallops/lobster) + 2 oysters = around GBP 20.

Lovely little seafood shack, friendly lady doing the mussels out at the front. Fresh seafood for reasonable prices(i mean it’s still the UK). Make sure to go early in the day so you can get everything they offer as they do run out of things quickly. One thing i’d like would be a pint with my food, but its probably a licence issue.

Essential visit when in Oban. Fresh local food at great prices, prepared by the lovely staff. Scallops in garlic butter were my favorite, and the mussels were delectable too.

Wonderful place to eat a fresh seafood at really reasonable price. Fast service, very good quality, lovely around... Fantastic place!

I am so glad they reopened before my Oban stay. Lovely local place Very busy when I visited. Very good prices for such great quality seafood. I even got some mussels taster for free while standing in the queue! Cannot recommend them enough. It might take a little waiting as they seem to get very busy, but the wait is definitely worth it!

What can you ask for more from this place?? I’ve been twice during my four-day stay in Oban. The seafood platter for 2 is amazing! The sweetest prawns I’ve ever had! And the langoustines were heaven! My second visit I bought langoustines on their own because they were so good. The oysters were so fresh and sweet, and such a good price too. I had them twice!Scallops are giant! I also tried the crab sandwich, which wasn’t measured up to my expectations though.The staffs are super lovely. I hope to come back again this year!

One of the best seafood experiences I have ever had. The chap handing out delicious free mussels like confetti made me laugh and the mussels were delicious. We ordered the grand platter and some oysters, all the food was incredible but the highlights for me were the scallops, oysters and mussels. Really good atmosphere outside the place too with everyone chatting to each other and complimenting the food.
