This is only the cafe side of the centre. The garden centre and shop is lovely.I ordered a chicken steak. It was 3 chicken fillets in a bun with salad and chips. The chicken fillets were reheated, very watery yet hard round the edges. The chips were just frozen ones and very scabby and I think it was the bottom of the bag.I would have expected the chicken fillets to be cooked as ordered as they are only quite small, and the chips should have definitely been homemade, especially as this meal cost £9 -Fresh cooked chicken fillets, a brioche bun homemade chunky chips, salad and a dip of coleslaw might be an idea.Needless to say I left the meal. The waitress that looked after us was lovely, I approached her about it and she assured me she would feed it back to the kitchen, she also had it removed from the bill.We asked for the bill and a different lady brought it over. I double checked it to see if my meal had been removed, and as promised it was, so I paid the bill. As I was walking away I noticed that on the bottom of the bill there was a salad and it was priced at £9?? I queried it with the waitress who wasn’t to sure what it was for. Obviously it wasn’t something we had ordered but I found it very strange that it amounted to exactly the same as what I had returned?? Was it added to try and catch us out and get the money - I guess I’ll never know.Unfortunately it’s another place I’ll just avoid now

Cute garden centre and shop.Cafe was good. Decent breakfast if not on the high price side for a full breakfast.Oh and probably don’t call it a full English in Scotland. It’s just a full breakfast 😂Definitely recommend the beetroot latte.

We had lunch there today while on a bike ride. The staff at Poppies were lovely, friendly, polite and attentive. The food we had was tasty and the menu is varied for any palate with many choices. Another family were there whose children were less than well behaved but the staff dealt with them politely, shamefully their parents were oblivious to their naughtiness... We had a quick look through the 'shop' as the weather was poor and we wanted to get back before it got worse but wished we'd had longer to browse.

Superb. This has to be a must place for lunch if you are in the area. Be prepared to wait for a table but interesting gift shop and garden centre while you wait. The seafood and ploughmans platters are very large and very good. They are also very good value given the size. A great menu and looking at other people's plates it was hard to choose.

Delicious food, great service, lovely spot. You can either sit inside and chat, or sit outside in the sheltered area and enjoy the view as you chat. Check opening time if you plan to go early on Sunday morning - we were (too?) keen.

A very small garden centre with a big cafe with outside seating overlooking the water. Cafe serves lovely food and cakes and specialty coffees and tea. Staffs are cheerful and friendly.

The cafe is located in the garden centre.I ordered a chicken and rice soup which was very nice with plenty of chicken. A grilled chicken and cheese burger with mixed salad. The cheese was nice and strong and the burger had a nice large beef tomato on it. A mixed berry smoothie that was very tangy and refreshing. A mint slice that had a good mix of chocolate and mint. And finally a dark mocha with a nice design on the foam. The whole meal was very nice and I would certainly come back again.

We visited last summer - everything was excellent. Charming views over the water and birds galore on the feeders. Food delicious. Chowder was full of big chunks and the hot smoked salmon with scone was excellent.
