Riva in Argyll & Bute

This place was absolutely amazing. The service and food was top notch!! And at a reasonable price. We would definitely visit this place again when we visit Scotland once again! Superb experience.

Excellent food, staff & restaurant! Very well priced in todays steep day to day life. I've definitely seen far worst places cost more. Would come back again when opportunity arises!

Shockingly bad service, arrived on time to booked table, not set up and then waited 20 mins to be offered drinks which then took 20 mins to arrive. Other diners arrived and were served and on their starters before we got the drinks. We were then told we only had another 15 mins. We advised we haven't even eaten, no apology just left us and then after repeated requests eventually got meal an hour and 15 mins after arriving. The side dishes didn't arrive until after we had finished the main course which the young waitress advised wouldn't be on the bill. Very disappointing at how it has deteriorated from a few years ago. Food was ok but nothing special. Cap it all the coat hooks fell off the wall. They put it back and glared at us then when we apologised as we left, we were told it happens all the time....well fix it!! We won't be back! So many much better restaurants in Helensburgh than this...Mira Mare, Riverhill to name a couple!

My husband and I booked a weekend away for my birthday and we could not be happier with our choice. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious, with every little detail covered, from Netflix on the TV to the umbrella in the closet. The dinner was exquisite I had the scallops for starters and sea bass with risotto for my main which was all cooked to perfection. We then started the next morning of with a delicious breakfast in bed as we listened to the record player included in the room. I would highly recommend Riva to anyone looking for a reasonably priced weekend away.

Eight of us visited at peak time on a Wednesday evening without booking and were delighted we could be squeezed in following a wonderful meal and experience we had there. Nice decor inside and a very friendly welcome. Food was excellent quality and the right quantity. Would definitely come back if we're ever in the area again.

So £9.95 for the Lasagne and £3.50 for the chips? Got this mush delivered today extremely disappointed is an understatement. The girl on the phone was great and felt sorry for the delivery driver when he came to pick up this excuse for a meal who was very apologetic. Not their fault as I told then however the chef (?) should take a good hard look at his/herself for letting that leave the kitchen. I've eaten there a few years ago and the steak was great, I'll never be back, with all due respect to Farmfoods I've had better Lasagne and chips from there, avoid people

What a great place. My partner and myself eat out 3 nights a weeks and really appreciate this gem. It was our fist time in Scotland and we came across Riva online. The restaurant is 5 star and the room was great. The room was modern contemporary with a super cozy mattress and massive tv with Netflix. Will definitely come back to Riva again.

It was a flying visit but so glad we stopped by .Everything we ordered was fresh,delicious and well made from the Drunken Mussels , our seafood mains to the kids chicken tenders with handcut chips.Service was friendly and efficient too.Keep up the good work and will be back soon.

We came here for dinner whilst staying in Loch Lomond. I had the beef lasagne which came with chips and my partner had the crab linguine. Both were massive portions and the food was pretty cheap as well. Would recommend for a big feed

Been wanting to order takeaway from here for a while so decided to jump on their family offer of 2 pastas, 2 pizzas and 4 sides.Pizza and pasta were pretty good and so were most of the sides we got including garlic bread and the onion rings.Sadly though we also got the truffle fries which were quite bland and the salad which was super gritty with every bite which was very off putting.
