The service from the staff was excellent. The food was of a very high quality and the portions were large. It has to be one of the best Indian meals that we have had.

As locals we love eating out in Oban. Spice world offers a wide range of cuisine across various Asian menus. I would highly recommend coming out for a delicious meal here. The staff are welcoming and the food is great. Don’t be led astray by negative reviews, try it for yourself!

I had the spicy Chinese sea Bass. I am here waiting for my ferry tomorrow in mull and we just walked into this place. My partner had the red Thai curry beef. The sea bass is honestly to die for. So fresh. So many vegetables. The batter wasn't too thick and was still crispy and the spicy sauce was divine. Spicy and flavourful. The vegetables were cooked to perfection in the dish. The vegetable fried rice was also super tasty. My partner really enjoyed his beef red Thai curry. Honestly the price was very reasonable. Wed never get fresh fish for that price and at that size back home. The sea bass was huge!If I could move this place to where I live normally I would because I could eat that dish all the time! But I'd also be broke because back home it'd probs would be triple as it's south east uk and the sea bass wouldn't be fresh. Brilliant place, friendly staff, exquisite service!

Food quality did not match my taste or expectation . Very average but ambience and view is good. If you are willing to taste an authentic Indian cuisine you might not be delighted.

Made to feel very uncomfortable in this restaurant 😕staff hanging around you while you ate watching every moveFood very dry over filled with vegetables definitely needed a gravy don't sell draught beers/lagers so your over charged for bottled beerI've never ever had a chow mein that includes egg this was very strange 🤔 won't be going back to this place

Ever worse experience. The food was terrible. Every dish lacked the minimum required taste. We ordered for extra hot and they gave us Chicken dipped in red colour. Colour does not taste hot. I went along with my friend and she has the same opinion. We never suggest anyone!!! We ordered chicken tandoori tikka as starter and Chicken Biriyani, Parantha, Palak Paneer along with. We could not even have the food. It was Terrible and terrible. Neither it had any taste nor salt and chilly!!!! Waste of money. Felt like the this restaurant spoils the taste and dignity of Indian Food!!!!!!!( I am posting some photos along with, never get carried away by their presentation style!!! Looks doesn’t mean taste!!!)

Ive been there Saturday night for a meal with my family, poor service from the waiter's who have a rough attitude and not so friendly. I don't know how they get all the good reviews but the food is awful, we order starter and main dishes, starter suppose to be hot but it was just reheated and my wife's rice with chicken was a bit of a mess , I would recommend this place just for drinks and the nice views ( awful music as well)

Its not Indian cuisine for sure. They dont make it the Indian way. It is more Bangladeshi. Biryani is more a fried rice than a biryani. Raita is a joke (raw cucumber put over plain yoghurt).Dont judge Indian food from this experience.

Completely baffled as to why this restaurant has some excellent reviews! It was absolutely diabolical! The worst curry we have ever had. From reading previous reviews people were saying the food was good but service was terrible but that was okay because we were going for takeaway. My curry looked like sick, tasted okay until the end. Pakora was dreadful (soggy, greasy and tastless). We ordered prawn crackers for my son and they tasted like they had been in the restaurant a month before they served them to us - they were stale. I don't understand why the residents of Oban put up with this shambolic restaurant. I guess they rely on tourists and will get the business no matter how bad their food is. If this restaurant was in Glasgow it wouldn't last a week. Over priced too - cost us £40 for a meal for 2. I would avoid this restaurant all costs!

Got a table with no waiting time on a Monday night. Got seated at the window with a beautiful view over the water to mull. Menu is varied choices of Chinese, Indian and Thai. I Opted for Thai which was amazing, full of spice and lots of it. My husband had indian and again said it was delicious. Only thing that let it down was the quite rude staff member who was taking the orders, he had no patience and he acted like he was fed up and disinterested in what we and other diners were ordering, no eye contact or politeness at all.
