Sugar Boat in Argyll & Bute

We found this on Google maps, had not even heard about Helensburgh, it is a very beautiful town, and the food here at Sugar Boat is amazing and the staff friendly.Sugar Boat has beautiful seating inside, but we chose to sit outside within view of a very cool concept of an outdoor museum.We enjoyed the Scallops, the Seared Mackerel and the Fish Pie. Everything was beautiful and tasted so wonderful!They also have a great selection of whiskey.

Very friendly, well decorated and super food. What a place. We drove 6:30 hours to get here. Worth it 👌

Amazing place with amazing food! As vegetarians, we went for tapas style starters and sides.

On a working holiday we nipped in here pretty hungry and on the off chance there was a vegan dish on the menu. Whilst there was not anything suitable the staff and kitchen made every effort to welcome us and ensure our needs were catered for, cooking something off menu and served with a glass of red wine. Really Delicious food.The service was great despite being short staffed. The atmosphere warm, relaxed and just lively enough. We found it leaned on the slightly pricey side of things but we'd certainly recommend and return.

Great find. Best food I've had in a while. Beautifully prepared and presented. Cooked to perfection. Lovely professional friendly staff. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Great choice of wines. Will definitely be back.

Enjoyed a nice brunch.Portions weren't huge, however good enough.Very tasty, service was very friendly by a female.All of our party enjoyed their choices.

Fantastic jewel of a place with very friendly staff. Desserts werent quite as good as the Starter and Mains (but they were incredible).

Took ages to be served, ages waiting for food. Not cheap. Son had a cake which wasn't great, told him he should have complained at the time! Burrata starter was gorgeous though. The char grilled cabbage was tasty and unusual.

Really nice bar/cafe, food was brilliant, I really enjoyed my meal. Compliments to the chef, really felt like my main was deserving of being on the great British menu or Master chef or similar a brilliant combination of flavour and texture. Pudding also very nice. Also good attentive waiting staff, I am completely kicking myself for forgetting to leave a tip, what can I say, it’s been a long time since I was in a restaurant b/c of lockdown and such!

Absolutely loved this place! The food was very good. I personally enjoyed burrata most of all. What a great idea to serve it with honey and cabbage! Unexpectedly good combination. Sourdough was also sooo good! I’d prefer grilled cabbage to be a bit less greasy, otherwise all was amazing. Definitely highly recommended.
