The Barn in Argyll & Bute

gorgeous food & atmosphere, we spent last week at cologin & ate in the bar 3 nights & sampled most of the menu between 4 of us. Highlights for me were the mussels (the best in Oban), the venison stew & the steak - the onion rings were perfection 👌🏼 everything was fresh & home made & it was very full & happy bellie's all round.Julie could not have been more helpful & hospitable & and Angus is a wizard in the kitchen - I cannot wait to be back to sample what's next!! 10/10

Under new ownership at the moment...food was lovely...lady at front of house was very attentive, friendly and welcoming..the dog loved it...first time here but will definitely be back

Tucked away, a small quiet bar/eatery. Ordered mushrooms with garlic and cheese, very tasty. Then Ordered scallops with veg. Scallops were good but the veg was still frozen so they were binned. Staff gave us 2 free drinks but I was looking forward to a decent meal. Reasonable prices. Wouldn't visit again.

We went here last summer and again this August. It was great both times. Well set up for social distancing. Food excellent - great value for money, fresh and piping hot. We had the starter portion of mussels which was a generous amount. The staff are very attentive - both waiters who were on were quick to clear plates, take orders, bring condiments or extra drinks etc.You are in a barn (unless eating outside in good weather) so no views but the surroundings are lovely! There’s a play ground for children and lots of parking.

Staying at near by Lodges we visited here by recommendation. Was not disappointed. Friendly staff and well organised given current circumstances. Booking in advance is recommended as I believe they were full the night before as well as Sat night on our attendance. Food was delicious kids enjoyed the burgers and pizza. The cajun chicken was excellent, portions were big. Dessert was also spot on.

I had a lovely meal at the Barn. I had fresh seabass with veggies on the side. It was cooked to perfection. I even had dessert...sticky toffee pudding! I wanted to lick the plate!!!

Awesome food! Big portions for the price paid! Nice and quiet while you eat, Would definitely be back!
