The Bay View at the Rosslea Hall in Argyll & Bute

room was badic, not what I ecoected for the money and the 4* hotel rating. breakfast was disappointing few cooked breakfast utens to choose from, no continental options.grounds however were beautiful , wedding I attended was amazing, food was excellent great atmosphere, lovely surroundings.

Went here first our Christmas dinner. The room and tables were fabulously decorated. The food was excellent - the duck pate for starters was really tasty! Everything on the turkey main course was very well cooked and delicious! The chocolate torte for dessert was to die for... I also had some cheese and biscuits. Coffee topped everything off. Santa even made an appearance for the kids. Service was first class throughout. A thoroughly enjoyable meal!!

Stayed here for 1 night & sadly wouldn't recommend. Although the staff are lovely & the food is great too.we asked to move as they put us on the first floor, room 6, which is at the front of the hotel, and is were the guests of a wedding were smoking & no fault of their own being loud. Kindly the lady at reception moved us to the top floor into room 31. Althouth a better shaped room, Sadly both rooms smelt of sewage & a fusty smell. 1 of the room windows in 31 was covered in cobwebs & flies, so we opened the other window - not ideal in the cold winter.Aswell as looking really dated & in need of tlc(stained curtains, black tiles, sealant bubbling)...the beds are horrendous. They are solid. Plus for a double its 2 beds pushed together, so you have a horrible dip in the middle which is shocking. Not ideal for someone who is recovering from a brocken back.The fact they charge a 40£ supplement for a Saturday aswell is madness for what you get.As said, staff were lovely & great food portions. We had a 5pm deal, so would have been even more dissatisfied if we paid 'full price'.Dc.

Great location near Rhu Point where we had a picnic. It was a pity that due to Covid the hotel was not operating at its best (they charged the same) no room service or cleaning, collect towels from reception and reduced menu. That said it was clean and well maintained throughout with decent sized comfortable bed and the staff were helpful and friendly.

Stayed here for one night whilst on a motorcycle tour of NC500.Parking was Plentiful, Location was good but a little hidden from road.Room was excellent, bed comfortable, shower great.Breakfast was good in the morning, staff were polite and friendly.Only Negative part of experience was the close proximity of church bell which chimed throughout the night and disturbed my sleep.Who on earth thinks it's a good idea to disturb peoples sleep throughout the night.

Was sceptical based on previous reviews but we stayed here in Oct 2021 and I can honestly say it was lovely. The rooms are big, clean and smart, the breakfast is 1st class!!!!! I would go again just for the breakfast and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The views are stunning - just try not to get rooms 4 - 7 as they look over the car park and you have to close the curtains for the entire stay lol.

Our daughter's wedding was held at the venue. There were a few wee hiccups at the pre wedding dinner the night before however the wedding day was almost perfect. The venue is at a lovely location, rooms were ideal, well set up and provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The wedding party and guests took over the whole hotel.Lynn and all her staff did a great job organising the whole day and nothing was too much trouble. They did a great job and made our day so special. I would recommend the hotel for special events and small breaks. Her dad and I did both for the weekend 🙂

Not been for dinner for 20 yrs.Very impressed due to covid restricted menu was good.Service was good and staff.Most impressed white linen table clothsAnd linen napkins. Beats all the hotels locallyWill be back

New guests were checking in,but we were completely ignored,by the person behind reception.Scottish hospitality? So rude to not even acknowledge potential guests.We have previous experience of this hotel at our Son's Wedding 7 years ago and since where no fault could be found.On the strength of this visit. We will not be returning. When Scottish hospitality is struggling to get back on its feet post Covid this is a masterclass of how not to encourage guests.

The food was lovely, really tasty. But it took aaaages to come out. We sat down at 7 and didn't finish main course till gone half 8. Staff could have been much more attentive, no offer of desert, tea/coffee. Looks like COVID restrictions have taken hold. A shame really. So much potential.
