The Old Inn in Argyll & Bute

Excellent steaks, great surroundings and great service.

We absolutely loved the Old Inn we were recommended to it by our hosts Jason & Abi from Kinlochich, and we were not disappointed. With a really lovely ambience about the place the staff were on top of there game but the food was excellent absolutely right up there with any steak restaurant anywhere top notch absolutely delicious well done to the whole team at the Old Inn you have everything spot on.

Recommended to us and boy it didn't fail. Everyone advised to book and you can certainly see why! The food was amazing and the service was excellent. If you want great quality steak - this is the place.

The Old Inn was recommended to us by our Airbnb host as serving the best steaks in Scotland, and they do! It's a beautiful location with the old rustic stonework visible from inside and the old wooden tabels. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We had the sirloin and the ribeye steak, both asked for medium cooked and it was perfect. The sides were also great, I absolutely loved the pepper sauce, which comes in a seperate bowl so that the chips won't get soaky. If you're anywhere near, make sure to stop by!

Great Steak restaurant in rustic barn . Entrance round the back so can look closed at the front , but well worth a visit .

We loved this place! It was recommended to us by our B&B host and was excellent. The building is the oldest inn in Scotland, established in 1690 and resurrected in 2014! We went for their steaks as that’s what they are known for, but their large pot of mussels with bread was delicious and just the right amount to share between two. We also shared the T-Bone steak and we devoured it, along with that yummy peppercorn whisky sauce that we would have drank if possible. The chips were some of the best I’ve ever had and the staff, especially Ross was incredibly welcoming and friendly. It was a cozy atmosphere with great music and just the right amount of chatter and energy. Such a great experience we were sad to go. Can’t wait to visit again!

Moving to Scotland I heard tales of the fabled Old Inn that had the "best steak in Europe"(Claim by avid local fans). Two visits later we make the same claim to many of our friends, and many agree! The steak is simply unparalleled, the charcoal grill just hits differently. You won't be disappointed, epic value for the 40oz sharing steak.

If you are going for the steak you won't be disappointed. Highland beef 25 Oz T-bone cooked to perfection. Good choice of Ales to compliment the meal.The pesciterian and vegetarian choices were served to a high standard although there is only a limited choice so phone ahead to find out and avoid disappointment.Ambience is great and seemed very popular for a weekday night. All staff were welcoming and friendly.Great meal thankyou

The Old Inn is just the most beautiful venue, as cozy as anywhere can be. The music was surprisingly indie and cool (go Bombay!) and servers were super nice. This would've been a perfect dinner apart from the chef cooking my monstrous 40 Oz Ribeye steak completely wrong. I asked medium rare, server suggested medium which I gladly accepted thinking steaks were cooked rosier than average but what Ive gotten was proper well done, argh. If it wasn't for the exquisite peppercorn sauce I would not be able to eat it. Disappointment didn't put me off though, would give it another try for sure as everything else tasted amazing including my partners Venison steak and all sides from both our dishes.
