The Oystercatcher in Argyll & Bute
Where is The Oystercatcher?
🏠 3 Otter Ferry Salmon, Otter Ferry, Tighnabruaich PA21 2DH
"Situated on the banks of Loch Fyne, in the most stunning of locations. The Oystercatcher at Otters Ferry is the most idyllic destination for breakfast, lunch or an evening meal. All freshly prepared and home cooked, seafood is something of a speciality but take a look at our daily specials for something a little different. Using carefully selected suppliers and the best of ingredients, enjoy a delicious dining experience in a quite unique setting. Open all day for drinks, why not try one of our local ales whilst taking in the view of Loch Fyne"

Didn't manage to get in here so I rated it middle of the road as I really can't comment. It does have peculiar opening hours off season. Monday and Tuesday its shut for sure Sunday is a couple of hours in the afternoon other than that I gave up trying...

This place is a gem! The location is perfect. If you're boring, you can drive here, but otherwise, ride you bike through the beautiful Cowal Peninsula or sail your boat here through Loch Fyne. There's a great little beach too. Now for the actual Pub; Phoebe and Steve are amazing hosts. The food (and the ale) is local and delicious and the service is wonderful. And as you can see from the pictures they are 100% dog friendly.

We had dinner & breakfast here and it was absolutely perfect. The hosts were so lovely and so very friendly. The scrambled eggs at breakfast were the best we have EVER tasted! Thank you so much for the most perfect time- we will definitely be visiting you again! Highly highly recommend! An absolute gem!

The food at this pub was outstanding. Absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend stopping here for a meal. The owners are also super friendly. And the pub is dog friendly so our 2 pups had a fab time sleeping while we ate. We had a salmon starter and squid with spicy sausage. Mains we had a big pot of muscles each, forgot to take a pic. But sooooo good. And dessert was a salted caramel chocolate pot and a rhubarb crumble. I felt like I was in a food coma after. Go here if you close by!

This is second time I had been to Oystercatcher. First time was an accidental impromptu and casual lunch and I really enjoyed it. This time round we booked in advance and went for a more formal dinner. I was slightly disappointed by the food.- langoustines starter was cold and felt like it came straight out from the fridge (the meat was sweet though). If I had known the langoustines were served cold, i might not have ordered it- the bloody marry sorbet does not work with the oyster and overpower the delicate oysters.- the chilli and lime butter on the halibut is delicious and the fish is perfectly cooked. But the dish miss a sauce after all to bind everything together. It lacks something after you had the whole dishHowever, there is a good selection of beers on tap and the whole environment is lovely, especially watching the sun setting. I will still go back to try it again.
