The Palace Fish Restaurant in Argyll & Bute

Young girl serving was lovely and pleasant but the older male with glasses was so so rude to the girl and it put us completely off. Wouldnt re visit because the way he spoke to the member of staff infront of paying customers. She must have been absolutely mortified. Wasn't the first person to comment on it in the place. Have some respect and treat the staff with some dignity instead of trying to bring her down. Disgusting.

Brilliant. Had take away black pudding supper cooked to order. Delicious. Clean and modern chippy. Would highly recommend.

Been a few times now and every time the fish suppers have been absolutely top notch, Every time I ordered haddock and it was freshly made and was plentiful, chips and mushy peas were also spot on, not the cheapest but definitely worth every penny!

I think I just had the worst chip shop food in my life.Service slow at 1.30 in the afternoon when around 5 members of staff working. No one interested when sat in.Quality of food was very poor. Price is very high. Portion size small When I received my food I new I should have walked however didn’t.Staff member sneezing and coughing into hands. Staff members look dirty in general.Also staff members getting paid cash in hand across the table from us.Queried the bill as charged £5.90 for a single sausage. Older foreign male staff member just rude. Other female staff member just as bad.I honestly feel scammed but should have walked when food came out so my own fault.Go to the Sun chip shop. Much better service, quality and price.100% won’t be going back. Awful

Out of a few in the area chose here.Unfortunately it was a bad choice.For the price the quality was poor. The fish was completely tasteless , reminded me of buying a frozen fillet of "white fish" from aldi.Batter was nice as were the chips, however not sure the "cod" was cod. It was moreless clear in colour , wondered if was undercooked but also the flakes were very fine, whereas cod is usually chunky?

Ridiculous wait for simple chips cheese and chilli. The chips were swimming in a horrible watery liquid from the chili And staff very rude

Bones in the fish. Chips were lovely, great sized portion, well priced and the batter on the fish was delicious. The staff were very friendly and our food was ready for us arriving after calling to place our order. Unfortunately the fish was terribly bony! Won’t be going back again, shame because the fish we managed to eat was very nice. The whole restaurant has a very clean and modern look and you can see the shop is well maintained.

Amazing. After going for a walk with my family by the beach in Helensburgh we stopped here and ordered fish and chips. The fish is probably the best I ever had and it was cooked to perfection. Chips were amazing too. Highly recommend and probably will go again!

I took my elderly group I work with for The Fish Tea they all loved it and the staff were very attentive to them all we would definitely recommend this place and will return on our next trip to Helensburgh.

Great tasting pizza. Really good service in a comfortable atmosphere.
