Castle Stalker in Appin. Not much apart from the castle out on a small island. Stunning views compensate. If your lucky you'll get a decent sunset.

Moving to Scotland I heard tales of the fabled Old Inn that had the "best steak in Europe"(Claim by avid local fans). Two visits later we make the same claim to many of our friends, and many agree! The steak is simply unparalleled, the charcoal grill just hits differently. You won't be disappointed, epic value for the 40oz sharing steak.

If you are going for the steak you won't be disappointed. Highland beef 25 Oz T-bone cooked to perfection. Good choice of Ales to compliment the meal. The pesciterian and vegetarian choices were served to a high standard although there is only a limited choice so phone ahead to find out and avoid disappointment.Ambience is great and seemed very popular for a weekday night. All staff were welcoming and friendly.Great meal thankyou

The Old Inn is just the most beautiful venue, as cozy as anywhere can be. The music was surprisingly indie and cool (go Bombay!) and servers were super nice. This would've been a perfect dinner apart from the chef cooking my monstrous 40 Oz Ribeye steak completely wrong. I asked medium rare, server suggested medium which I gladly accepted thinking steaks were cooked rosier than average but what Ive gotten was proper well done, argh. If it wasn't for the exquisite peppercorn sauce I would not be able to eat it. Disappointment didn't put me off though, would give it another try for sure as everything else tasted amazing including my partners Venison steak and all sides from both our dishes.

Amazing food! Best steaks we've had in a restaurant - we all loved it. Can't wait to go visit again.

Found the owner to be extremely rude. After having dined there my daughter and I went down the shore to take photo's of Castle Stalker. Owner 'hadn't realised we'd been in his pub' and was shouting "hoi cant park there" as he thought we'd only parked to walk down to the shore.Food was reasonably priced, served in a timely manner and have no complaints of it. We still probably wouldn't choose to eat there again even had it not been for the incident as we felt the food standard was 'ok' and not quite what the rest of premises locally serve.Very clean place and nice atmosphere.

I thoroughly enjoyed my steak. The staff were very friendly and Covid aware to ensure we had a very comfortable evening. And they had Budvar on draft, they also played some decent background music.

Great atmosphere and the food was to die for! The steaks were the best we have had in a long time, good quality food simply served. With food this good I can see why it's so popular! Covid safety well thought out. Will definitely be back!

This is propably my favourite place to eat in Scotland, although I've only been a few times, I love it!The atmosphere is really special, the building is genuinely rustic feeling. Not just trendy rustic, but real, beautifully rustic. It's warm, relaxed and unfussy yet thoughtfully set out I think (some fascinating old artifacts on the walls).Super hospitable staff who are lovely with kids, and the food is absolutely gorgeous, the kind you really want to savour but its just too good, you have to wolf it down! Can't recommend the old Inn enough! ❤️

We really enjoyed our first night in the Highlands, catching up with our good friends, over a very tasty meal in the Old Inn. Whilst the selection of food on offer was not extensive, what we ordered was all great quality and the atmosphere and service were excellent. The staff were attentive and useful without being overbearing and the food came out to us in good time too. All in all we loved our visit and will definitely go back the next time we are up that way.
