Comfortable, elegant and understated. We spent four wonderful nights here as the base for our wedding celebration. David, Megan and their staff were excellent hosts. Our room Balnahard has a comfortable double bed and large bathroom. Two lovely aspect windows give great views back to the harbour. A good evening menu with locally supplied produce and excellent breakfasts completed our stay. We can't wait to return!

I feel the quality of food/menu offered has deteriated, only hot burgers, be it beef or chicken available at lunch time, when asked about fish and chips on more than one occasion, told not available, and yet I gather it is on evening menu, did not want either Broccoli and stilton or cream of cauliflower soup on either occasion, not very exciting at all, with the weather as it is, how about a thick vegetable or broth of some sort, also fish and chips is more of a Lunch time menu , on my third visit I ordered the exact same Burger meal as two days previous (because not other choice), when served, the red cabbage slaw was dry and looked old, also not chunky like previous visit, bun was not very fresh, and whole thing was not juicy, even chips tasted like re-cooked, I did let Waiter know this, and he said he would let chef knowI have used this hotel every year over the last 6 years, during my stay on the Island, for lunch and dinner, and to top this off, my horror at the state of Men's lavatories, damp and mould, not what I would expect. This will not put me of using , but feel need to up there game

Friendly, quality service of good food from the restaurant and refreshments from the bar. Our visit was evening only so not an overnight stay (yet).

Jewel of a hotel. The staff are attentive and can't do enough for you. The food and accommodation are fantastic. I will definitely be back. 👌😊

Nice place for a beer or lunch especially when the sun shines. Can't comment on the residential side of things.

Met by friendly staff and shown to my room. He arranged a table for dinner. Evening meal was excellent and worthy of any restaurant in Edinburgh. Highly recommended

The only hotel on the island. Lov ely gardens and outside sun deck. Food was good and compared to other island hotels and restaurants, competitively priced. Room was comfy with new shower room. Only comment, no shelves in shower room or shower for toiletries/makup storage. If you visit without a car it is about 10 minute gradual walk uphill to hotel. Ok in fine weather, but would be miserable if it was raining.

Beautiful welcoming hotel! Excellent choice of drinks and food! Fabulous service! The management is very high standard! The location is to die for! Try 'pigs paradise' locally brewed lager - it's a must have! Colonsay gin as well! Would come back time and over again for a music night on Friday! Superb atmosphere! Please note the quiz night on Thursday is taken very seriously! We're yet to beat the locals 🙈
