The Smiddy Bistro in Argyll & Bute

Very expensive for basic food. Left hungry, small portion for the nacho. When you order nachos on a menu it’s usually because you are hungry. Small portions are only acceptable if the food is exceptional. Staff were pleasant but seemed very rushed and the decor was nice.

We always pop in when ever we visit Lochgilphead. Tasty Cullen Skink and coffee.

Inviting, warm and the food 😮 these girls know what they're doing. The Cullen Skink was incredible and the range of cakes impressive. Everything homemade. Thank you for your hospitality 🙂

Ate with three other adults today. Refreshing to eat fresh, homemade food. Amazing salad accompaniments, very varied. Very busy . Staff were efficient and timely. Bathroom was very clean. Tiny wee complaint....I would have liked a bigger portion of everything.

This is a great little eatery, coffee is very good, large choice of soft drinks. The food is first class but the service is top notch. Very friendly staff. If you're in Lochgilphead you should eat here.

Just behind the main street down a lane, lovely old stone building with just a few tables. Roasted Garlic & Cauliflower soup and the Haggis Rarebit were both delicious, we especially loved the fantastic salad! Delish food, warm welcome and friendly service with a top selection of cakes/desserts after.

Lovely place. Excellent food and friendly staff. Very welcoming. Try their HUGE salad, perhaps with coronation chicken (photo). There are only about a dozen tables so you may have trouble getting in at busy times - and it's so good, it's usually busy!

Lovely cozy place! Good food and is great value for money! The people were so nice, caring and helpful! Today’s special of linguine with chicken was just delicious (see picture)!
