"hello no fish & chips here" was the opening line when we were greeted at the door by Gabriel. We told him we saw the menu beforehand in passing, so knew what to expect. As we already had our fill of fish & chips the previous evening, we wanted something different. The food, wine & cakes here are fantastic. This place has a great atmosphere. Gabriel is a fab host and has hilarious banter with all of his customers. Both guys are doing a great job. Gabriel does have a list of other restaurants he recommends to people if this restaurant isn't up their street. Remember peeps, No fish & chips here!

Note that old reviews here are for the 'old' restaurant, before it was taken over by Gabriel and Pawel (so don't be fooled by any rubbish reviews from before then!). The highlight of our stay on the island. Gabriel went above and beyond to fit us in last minute and service was second to none, very personal - Gabriel clearly made every table feel welcomed and valued, having a laugh with everyone while notably busy. Food was delicious, Polish dumplings particularly (made fresh at home), all very hearty. Thanks both!

Fantastic, cosy, intimate venue, with fine selection of delicious food, flavours and amazing customer service. Great selection for any diet. Without doubt the best place to eat a nice meal in Rothesay. Can't wait to come back. The owners really care about their produce and service, and it shows through in every way..

The Waterfront is the best place we went to on Bute. The food is lovely and Gabriel and Pawel are the best, so welcoming, funny and genuine. The restaurant is bright and well decorated in a modern way, especially compared to the dated feel of other places on Bute! Thanks for such a lovely evening guys!

Had an absolutely wonderful meal and evening here with my partner - we were lucky enough to get a table after a cancelled booking and enjoyed delicious wine and food! Gabriel was so charming funny and working hard to provide a great atmosphere so everyone dining had a relaxed and friendly evening chatting away with each other. Will definitely return next time we are on Bute !

I don't write reviews but will make an exception on this occasion. This restaurant is fantastic. The food is different but extremely delicious - including the dark chocolate cake & Polish spice cakes! You couldn't ask for better hosts. It has a bright, friendly atmosphere, nicely decorated and you get to chat with other people eating in this restaurant - some local some visitors. Unfortunately, one arrogant man with his family in the restaurant was extremely rude, and told us all to stop talking about Covid - because HE'S had enough of hearing about it over the last 18 months! Haven't we all! The host changed the subject and all seemed fine. Then out of the blue, this arrogant man walked up to the front desk, stating he didn't like the host, the restaurant & would never come back. Yet this man polished the plates of food he ordered! Considering the size of this man (he was a giant), the host was calm but also firm dealing with the situation. After he paid his bill, he walked out leaving his family (wife & two children) behind, who you could see was extremely embarrassed by what happened. The host made sure they were fine, expressing how happy he was they visited his restaurant. All of us did breath a sigh of relief when this arrogant man left the premises. The host apologised - even though it wasn't his fault. In spite of this, we still had a wonderful evening here. We'll definitely be returning very soon! I highly recommend the waterfront.

The best restaurant on the isle. I absolutely recommend eating at this beautiful restaurant. First, the ambience is delightful. It's light-filled, tastefully decorated, and lovely to spend time in. Between the wonderful music (played at a soothing level) and the decorative touches around the restaurant, it's a great place to spend time.Second, the food is delicious. I enjoyed the healthy and interesting options. It offers a menu that I have not come across before, and there are options for all dietary preferences/requirements.Finally, the owner and the chef have such a gracious, welcoming energy. I noticed how playful the owner was with some guests who had their children with them, and I noticed how he made sure everyone in the restaurant had a special time.I suggest booking to ensure you can get a table, but they do take walk-ins as well.

We booked a table for 6 at restaurant for Saturday evening (7th August) and had an absolute blast. The food is absolutely amazing! We ordered the Mediterranean platter, stuffed red peppers, mussels, Spanish & Polish pizza's, Goulash and Pierogi. Sorry to those who were in the restaurant that didn't get the chance to try their Polish spice cake – we ordered the last 5 with ice cream! We also had a blast with the other diners in the restaurant – it was a terrific evening! The owners enjoyed themselves - even though they were working! Thank you guys for making our evening perfect. I definitely highly recommend this restaurant – we're already planning a return visit for next month! BTW they are licensed and do not serve fish & chips

This is my second visit to this restaurant (my partner's first) and decided to be a bit more adventurous (my partner suggested this!). We had breton beans, stuffed red peppers with pork & veal, the potato pancakes with goulash and the pierogi topped with bacon pieces. We also tried the Polish spice cake and dark chocolate cake - both with ice cream! All absolutely tasty & delicious! Gabriel is a wonderful host! My partner thoroughly enjoyed her birthday treat at the waterfront. We'll definitely be back! I highly recommend this establishment.

Visited the waterfront twice whilst on our trip to Bute. The restaurant is very bright and spacious. Great food, wine and the staff are very welcoming. Temperature checks are taken before entry. Would recommend.
