Fish portion was inconsistent between the 3 meals, one meal had half the amount of chips as the others , the mushy peas are not as pictured on fb posts, they are mixed with onion and have more pea skins, seem chopped rather than mushed,The meals were ready for collection at the time I selected they were hot, smoked haddock was tasty and enjoyed but plain haddock was bland and a little dry

Probably the best chippie I've ever been too! Busy and need to order in advance but definitely worth it, my sis is gluten free too and her gluten free fish I'm told was great!

Lovely local chip shop with fabulous options and all cooked to order. Haddock duo is my favourite meal. Caters for vegan as well.

I just visited the Wee Kelpie, a charming fish and chip shop on the banks of the River Clyde, a majestic river that carves through Scotland like a great sgian-dubh; the perfect setting for the Wee Kelpie.Like the fabled river-beast from which the chippie claims it's nomenclature, it's fish and chips are legendary around Scotland. And with good reason...I ordered cod, with chips and mushy peas. The cod tasted like Condatis himself had blessed it with his magnificent oceanic godliness. The batter in which this delectable aquatic morsel was swaddled remained crispy and delicious throughout the journey home AND while I ate the meal. The chips were equally blessed, as though plucked fresh from Morgay's own sunlit fields. Outside, they had a delicate crispiness to them. On the inside, it was smooth and buttery, like ambrosia itself. We raided Morgay's fields a second time for her peas, which the Wee Kelpie mushes with their own fair hands. This is by far the best chippie I've ever been to in my life and my soul weeps great heaving tears that it is 257 miles away from my home. Top quality chippy.Fantastic battered cod and breaded scampi, top quality seafood.Only misses out on the 5/5 as I wasn’t sure about the super thick cut chips, they’re ok but not the best I’ve had, in the photo they make the fish & scampi look small but it’s a big portion, the chips are just much bigger than you’d expect!(I think perhaps Scottish chippys use less salt and vinegar than my South West English chippys I’m used too? These were ok for Scottish chips just not anything special, I think need to go back to my original favourite “Cod Down Chippy” in Bath and compare, perhaps I’ve just gone off on chip shop chips in general!)

Best fish and chips in Helensburgh. Family owned business with a wide variety of fish and other dishes. Staff are always friendly and helpful. At present you need to book in advance and as it's so good it's always busy.

Best chippy in Helensburgh, book online in advance and do it early to get the time and day you want it's not open all week so book and you won't be disappointed.

The absolute best chippy for miles and miles. Fish is always delicious and fresh with no excess grease. The chips are fluffy with a nice flavour. My favourite chippy, there is no competition.

Probably the best fish i've ever had. I'm really not a seafood person but my girlfriend got the cod and I ended up eating more of it than her!!was so creamy soft and full of flavour and the fish batter was so yummy and could see there was a lot of love put in the only reason i dont give five stars is simply the chips werent anything special a little too thick making them wver so slightly dry however please if you've not tried it give it a go :D
