"Why eat in town with everyone else when you can dine at the Waypoint on the wonderful Isle of Kerrera. Remote highland wildlife and fine cuisine are both just a 10 minute ferry ride from the bustling convenience of Oban town centre. Walks on (privately owned) North Kerrera range from an easy 15 minute stroll to a deserted beach to a full 4 hour trek over the whole island, over Carn Breugach and down to Gylen Castle. Afterwards, in our fully licensed restaurant you can savour an evening of delicious food, good company and the very best sunset views of Oban you will find."

I really wish I’d taken a picture of the food. Sadly I was captivated with the dog and hungry -demolished the food as soon as the plate touched the table.Great quality food and friendly service from all staff. We had the beef brisket a bottle of red, and shared a desert. Good serving size/price/quality.Delilah the dog is one lucky thing to live on this beautiful island wish a friendly, and efficient bunch of people.

Excellent food, an undiscovered gem within a 10 minute boat ride from Oban. Relaxed atmosphere, we will definitely be back. If you are in Oban and looking for something a bit different this is well worth a try.

Had the best afternoon visiting Waypoint Restaurant, it was such a fabulous experience. Our lovely waitress went above and beyond considering it was super busy. So looking forward to going back, it's a wee hidden treasure. Veronica xxx

Quite and lovely restaurant with beautiful scenery of the Oban harbor. Excellent Scottish food and drinks for reasonable price. Friendly and informative staff. It is so relaxing to have a lunch at outdoor table. In 2015, if you visit this restaurant for great food, you could take the ferry from Oban to here for free.

Unless you’re already moored in the marina (we weren’t), a short ferry ride (booked separately from Oban harbour) to this marina-side restaurant is the start of this lovely evening out. The establishment is a simple wooden building, and the kitchen a separate ‘shed’ next door. This adds to, rather from detracts from the setting. The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere, friendly welcome and spectacular views back to the mainland. The menu is short, but the food is excellent and well presented. (There’s one veggie option, and several seafood choices). We were able to sit in the restaurant, and because it was excellent weather, the doors were wide open allowing us a spectacular view across Oban harbour and all its activity. There was even a friendly reminder from the staff, about half an hour before the last ferry back to the mainland, the journey on which, with a beautiful sunset, topped off the evening.I’d fully recommend this as a venue to visit for a simple but lovely evening out.

We enjoyed our lovely little boat ride over to the island of Kerrera for some lunch at the Waypoint Restaurant & Bar and a great hike around the island. Our small lunch was GREAT and perfect for what we were planning for the day.Our service was perfect and helpful - they gave us a hiking map with a key - that actually helped us quite a bit. The fish and chips were great and our views of the marina as well. Nice having bathrooms available as well and there were showers too ~ Definitely a keeper and a hidden gem.

Great little trip across the bay, would highly recommend the whole experience. The ferry runs every hour until late and the owners are very kind and helpful. Food is also particularly good, and a beautiful view of Oban in the evenings.

Lovely food and very friendly staff. Plus it's nice and cosy after a day on the water and there are great views across the bay to Oban, so you can see all the boats and ferries coming and going.

A nice taxi ferry across the bay to the waypoint restaurant, now with draught beer.

Nice restaurant with fantastic views of Oban. We ordered different plates and all of them was lovely, but Balmoral chicken and rib eye steak was OMG. Vamos, que estaba todo muy bueno.
