Absolutely amazing food and service. The Al forno house special is really nice as was the pizza and fillet steak.

A small place with great food and the staff were excellent. I would definitely recommend this place

·

Grat food. Friendly staff making you most welcome. Small traditional Italian restuarant.

·

Food was bland and portions small. 4 tiny tiny potato wedges with main course. Meal was nearly £18 not worth the money. Sorry but wouldn't go back. Waiter was lovely.

Fab meal and we always order the Alforno pasta it has everything in it and we don't know any other Italian who makes it like they do . Fantastic .

This place is absolutely wonderful. It’s down to earth and unpretentious, classic Italian food. I find that Italian restaurants often overcompensate by adding lots of ingredients and giving you massive portions, but Ciao Sorrento was nothing like that. The food was absolutely stunning, and was basic but delicious, with portions that were reasonable. They also did a litre of house wine for just under £20, which was really good. The garlic bread with mozzarella was also fantastic. I found the coffees to be very nice, and the tiramisu was delicious as well. With the receipt they also gave us a small Italian biscuit, which was a nice touch. The waiter was very friendly, and the whole place has a family feel. They even managed to get us in 45 minutes before our reservation, which was really good. It’s small inside, but it didn’t feel crowded. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, it made for a truly fantastic night!

Tried Ciao Sorrento as I was told it was the best Italian restaurant in Dundee. Unfortunately the experience wasn't great. The one waiter was clearly way too busy - when we arrived he said it would be five minutes to clear a table and could we wait outside, but then he clearly forgot about us while he was dealing with all the other customers. After about half an hour we got his attention and we got a table. I can't fault the main course, pasta forno - very tasty, and like home-cooked (almost enough to make up for the wait). My dinner companion said the same about the lasagne. He was still hungry so ordered a pizza margarita and this is where things went downhill. The sauce was way too salty and ruined an otherwise decent pizza, and the tiramisu was destroyed by having chocolate ice cream sauce in it.The waiter was still way too busy as the couple at the next table had to wait well over 10 minutes for a coffee.I'm willing to give it another try just to see if it was an off night, but my dinner mate (who is Italian himself) says that he's never going back.

The food was good, but when we had finished our meal, the staff were completely focused on clearing tables and setting up for the next day. We had to wait ages for the bill to arrive. Such a shame as with a bit more focus on the customer, this very traditional Italian could be amazing. Maybe they don't really need recommendations as they are trading on past glories?

This fine Italian restaurant is a small but certainly a delicious one. 😋 It perfectly matches the saying "Good things come in small packages." Honestly the good and service here is amazing 👏 the staff here are really nice and thoughtful. The menu is huge with a lot too pick from highly recommend the pasta they have there 😋 truly tasty and the very rich desserts 5- star worthy placeall I have to say.
