Gourdie Croft Beefeater in Dundee City

Dont normally knock places, but!!! Monday evening not busy, service here is terrible, placed my food order at 6.30pm arrived at 7.45pm, restaraunt was not even half full, finished eating the sat here being ignored whilst waiting for my dessert, can't fault the actual food but staff have just got no get up and go, there is one lad working the bar, again no rush in his service at all, then there are 3 ladies walking around stargazing, all I wanted to do was eat.As I write this review I'm still sat here waiting on my dessert, poor poor service!!!!!!

Staff brilliant, very pleasant & attentive without being overbearing, drinks arrived promptly, food was excellent. We'll definitely be back. I was surprised it wasn't busier!

Unfortunately I have to give this place a one star.I took my parents out for a meal today but ended up in disaster. Myself and My dad had the worst steak we have ever had. My dad's steak was so poorly cooked he couldn't even cut into it and that was using a steak knife! I get its value for money but come on please cook a steak thats edible! When we were asked how our meal was my dad said he didn't like it. The server agreed it was undercooked. He had the steak removed from the bill. Thing is the previous time I went there the food was amazing. I felt embarrassed because I actually recommended this place ! But with the service we were provided I won't be back. The severs were great but the food was terrible.

The main meal the 3 of us had was delicious. When it came to the dessert, the service was extremely poor. My mum whose birthday treat it was was given frozen raspberries which gave her pain straight away. When we called the waiter over I was shocked with the reply....I'm sorry, we have a new chef and he doesn't have a clue.That totally upset my mum who wanted to leave straight away. The waiter took it away and replaced it with plain ice cream ( no syrup etc on ) which she didn't eat.We sat waiting for the bill ( the place wasn't busy ) and ended up going to the bar to pay in the end.Our 1st experience here...the service was outstanding and that's why we returned.But, now I'm unsure to book again.

My wife and I are becoming somewhat of regular customers here. We have been several times now, as well as coming for our Christmas dinner which I must say was excellent. I can honestly say that we have never had a bad meal here and it is excellent value for money. The staff have also been very friendly and attentive to our needs on every occasion hence the 5* rating.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch today with my friend .Food was delicious and absolutely loads ,roast beef ,roast lamb,chicken and well cooked veg.Waitress who seated us and collected our order and then served us was Kari.She was very pretty,very attentive and just a lovely girl all round,so thankyou Kari ,we will be back .

1st time visiting for breakfast. Staff friendly always on hand for advice etc. Food was fine ,place neat & tidy.

One of the best steak sandwiches I had, cooked just like I requested

Staff service was impeccable.Food was average :wings starter were deliciousfor the main, my steak was over cooked and my chicken was dry. my partner's chicken was okay and fries were good.sticky toffee pudding was amazing.overall this place is a good value for its prices if you don't expect too much of food.

Popped in here on Sunday, as we were doing some shopping before we drove back to perth, as we always enjoy our dinner from hereAlways friendly and polite staff,We both enjoyed our startersI had the breaded mushrooms and a BBQ sauce, and a sour cream sauce it was delicious, my partner had the Calamari, with a nice lemon flavour dip sauce he also enjoyed itOur main ,I had the pork ribs with BBQ sauce and the chicken, and chips ,coleslaw and corn cob was all delicious to my partner had the steak and sea food dish which he enjoyed very much, hope to return again soon 😋
