The Riverside Inn in Dundee City

Picked starters and was told the dish, I picked was not available. Main course picked haggis which was very dry and tasted burnt. Very disappointed with the main course. Also I picked Eton mess for my. sweet and was told ten minutes after waiting that they do not have it, We won't be going back.

Arrived at 12:00 midday without pre booking. Restaurant was quite quiet, but a fair few more diners arrived whilst we were there. Had steak pie, chips and peas with a side of onion rings for lunch today. Good dish but would have been a great dish if it had come with a small jug of extra gravy. Both my companions had scampi, chips and peas and both enjoyed. Restaurant was a little cold for our liking but apart from that we all enjoyed and will eat here again in the future.

Checked website before going down, said Temporary closed, telephone, and was open. Staff told us it was closed on Wednesday due to shortage of staff. Enjoyable meal, fairly quiet. I enjoy my pudding, partner not keen on hers. Food hot and we'll.cooked. friendly staff.

Food was 4 star. Well cooked and good value. Dropped a star as too many people not wearing masks upon entry and when wandering about. Going to the toilet or on their phone walking about.

Food was slow and dissapointing. General cleanliness was slapdash, with residues on the table. I believe that they were understaffed but even so with the few customers they had they could have been a lot sharper, more welcoming and exude less attitude.

Great, friendly staff. Spacious. Good food. Perfect for a family meal, or just a lunch time coffee. Indoor and outdoor seating and play areas for the kids.

Prices great, staff very attentive and efficient, food fresh and hot and tasty. Not our first visit and certainly not the last. Our grandson loves it there too. So much he didn't want to leave. Had a great time in the soft play.

We had a lovely lunch and drinks here during a weekend break. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good and the portions were big.The restaurant was clean with all appropriate social distancing measures in place.Great value for money and we'll definitely return when we're up that way again.

Incredibly good value. Elsewhere I've paid more for just the chips than I did here for the entire meal! No kidding. And this was a steak dinner!OK so it was cheap, but was it any good? Holly mackerel, yes. It's no Fat Duck, but the quality doesn't just match but actually exceeds the expectation at this price.In summary, most importantly it's delicious but very inexpensive. Massive facility, suitable for huge groups. Large alfresco dining area. Friendly and attentive staff. Lovely decor - casual but attractive wooden style, and equally attractive setting, despite city location.Absolutely delightful.

Wonderful food and service (thanks Zoe) on our visit on 8th of June. Highly recommend trying one of their steak dishes (the dipping steaks and the steak/rib combos are to die for) and if you are a cheese lover the baked Camembert is a must!Can't wait to visit again.
