Delicious, high-quality steaks and wines, with several different cuts of meat available. I particularly enjoyed the piri piri prawn starter and the mushroom sauce with my steak. We went out for a very nice mother's day lunch with a large group and a few young children. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for our group, and had some helpful menu suggestions. Will definitely be back!

First time here, really rather disappointing. Asked for a glass of Rioja only to be told quote abruptly that that wasn't going to be happening. Was offered some South African nonsense instead. Ordered Chicken Liver Pate which was accompanied by a rather lame salad. The tomato and I mean the tomato that came with it was withered and unedible. Ordered the T Bone medium rare, this was closer to Blue than rare and unedible near the bone. First time here and we won't be going back. Over priced and over rated.

Excellent experience. The staff are friendly and the food is amazing.

We were welcomed in for lunch yesterday even though we arrived just 5 minutes before they closed- and the service was immaculate. Loved the food, can't wait to come back- thank you Champany!

We went to celebrate two birthdays and when booking, had mentioned that we were 4 with a toddler. When we arrived, the one usable high chair was in use by another table. We were told that we should be prepared and have our own high chair. My husband returned home to get ours and the comments were completely inappropriate and not the type of attitude or behaviour I would expect from a better establishment. The atmosphere is dark, quiet and serious, which is fine. However, the staff were cold and judgemental, which is the reason we left.If you have children, don't bother considering this place, it's not child friendly. We have seen good reviews about the food, but chose not to stay, so could not comment. We went to Mannerstons, where we had amazing food, the prices were cheaper and the atmosphere was far more family friendly. We won't bother going to Champany again due to the rude staff. The only person who apologised was the most junior member of staff.

Booked in on the 4th for the 14th feb to the restaurant. I received a phone call on Sunday to confirm that I was still attending which was fine but asked if I had been told that there was a Valentine’s Day set menu which I had not been told. I mentioned that I could cancel the reservation if it wasn’t to my liking which I pointed out was a bit inconvenient considering it was literally the day before that they had warned me but I wasn’t too fussed considering the reputation was so good. Gave my card details over the phone to secure the seat which I suppose isn’t unreasonable in the current climate.Flash forward to The dinner on Monday and the set menu which was as I had expected a little disappointing. The starters were not bad although the bread with the soup was just average.15 pound supplement per person for the 800g rib eye (not my first choice of cut but the menu limited us) which was a little under done but I wasn’t too fussed. The side salad was nice and the chips seemed to be the bottom of the pan as I’d say half the bowl were the crumbs/crispy bits.Cheese board and sticky toffee pudding for dessert - both very niceBoth our wine glasses were empty from near the end of the main course and we were not asked once whether we would like a drink.Ordinarily this wouldn’t of been an issue but the poor service and limited menu for what is really top money really tipped it for me. It would have been fine if the service had of been on point but with 5 waiters floating about and not one fit to check our drinks including who I believe to be the owner. The food was nice but for 158 I will be hard swayed to return. Disappointing as I have heard many good stories about the Champany Inn.

Beautiful lunch with business associates. Staff and food fantastic! Very accommodating for our colleague with disabled requirements.

Amazing atmosphere, so authentic. The steaks are out of this world, cooked to perfection. Staff are attentive and professional. Waffles are a must. A great experience 👌

Had an amazing meal last night with friends. Food was amazing as always infact I struggle to find a better steak anywhere else. There is a negative for me though and that was the new menu. Not any sides at all on offer apart fron salad..no onion rings and no veg. Anyway still 5 stars but just a little feedback. Thanks for a great night.
