Dom's Chip Shop in Fife

Friday 18th February @ 19:40hrs. Usually travel to Anstruther for quality fish supper every week but following recommendations from family members, we reluctantly switched to the newly managed DOMS (Around mid January) in order to save time and travel costs. We were pleasantly surprised and found the fish to be fresh and the batter crispy and well cooked. Not quite the 'Famous Fish Bar' quality but certainly reasonably close and would save on travel time etc. We went to DOMS each week but tonight has unfortunately concluded our continued custom. Soggy, tasteless fish (excessively deep frozen?) fish albeit a decent thickness was covered in soggy batter. Batter was a good colour and a little bit crisp on the outside but white and sticky on the inside (too much gluten / flour?). Chips were reasonably OK but standard has dropped already and quality has dropped from a good 4 star to 1 star :( Unfortunately, we have no intentions to return anytime soon. Hope the owner reads this feedback and takes corrective action. They are certainly capable of better, we thought highly of their quality until now. What has changed? We do not know... the same people are frying the food. Perhaps we were just unlucky with a rogue batch of batter and a different fish supplier(?). Wishing the new owners well and attained sagacity / insight going forward in order to step back up! PS perhaps also best to wear face masks (the public don't know if you have LFD tested or not and have no awareness of your hand hygiene compliance) only 2 of 4 wearing masks last week and (0) zero of 3 people this evening :(

We returned to Dom's after it changed hands and the first 2 fish suppers were very tasty. Tonight the batter was uncooked and the fish tasteless. Really disappointed that the level of quality has dropped so soon. Not worth the money as most of it went in the bin.

15 year old son has been a regular for a while, since new owners prices through the roof, sent a small portion of Donner meat which contained a whole 4 slices 😳 and was cold, not interested in helping what so ever, new owners are a disgrace

Ordered frozen at sea fish suppers, received ordinary fish suppers in which the fish were almost a third the size of the actual batter, both dinners not finished. Not the same place as it used to be

First time I have been in for over a year I was a bit surprised to see it had been taken over. I ordered steak pie supper. Couldn't fault it, it was cooked properly and tasty not greasy. A little bit more chips would have been nice, it was quite a small portion for a supper. Overall I would go back.

Great place to dine if you have no taste buds. The best way I can compare the fish is the scrapings out of the bottom of a can of felix cat food. Farm foods fish finger are a better quality. The kebab they had the cheek to charge £6.60 for a large kebab and chip and they microwaved it and just dumped it on top of the chips so it was a grease soup. If I fed it to the dog the RSPCA would take it of me. So in a nut shell don’t waste your money here there’s a Chinese next door so go there and get some salt and peppered cat it’d taste better than that which they serve as ‘food’

Phoned my order in was told 10 minutes and it would be ready ! I arrived 10 minutes later to find that they couldn't find my order so had to order again 3 times they asked if I wanted chilli sauce and salad with my kabab then no one seemed to know how much too charge ! Was so hungry and looking forward to my dinner positive there was plenty of doner meat but I think they forgot to put the chilli sauce on I didn't find it !! and as for the salad !!!! Well if you like chunks of cabbage and that's all for your salad really a salad witch only consists of chunks of cabbage !!!!! And the pitta bread was lost it was so small I had to dissect everything to find it and it was microwaved so half of the tiny thing you got you couldn't eat !!!!!!!! Please avoid if you are hungry or like to enjoy what you eat !!!!

Really disappointed! Phoned order in, but still had to wait while they cooked it. Got home to find that all 4 pieces of fish were soggy! Will never go back there, waste of 11 hard earned quid!

Absolutely disgusting oil/batter fryer looks like it hasn't been changed in years....dont know where its getting best chippy and the staff.....well!!!

Great fish supper. Worth the price ,well cooked too .
