Lovely food and a helpful staff. It had a very friendly atmosphere with families and four legged friends. There were good facilities for a wheelchair user and they keep the front of the building free for a disabled drop off space.

My wife and I were given A £50 voucher for the Ship Inn by friends to mark our Golden Wedding Anniversary. The location and the staff are both excellent. We both ordered the battered haddock (which arrived quickly...too quickly to have been cooked to order perhaps?). The fish was very, very greasy and when we were asked if everything was okay, my wife told the waitress about the fish. She offered to have the plate replaced but my wife had been put off and said not to bother. Eventually, we were told we wouldn't be charged for her dish but since we were using a voucher "no change can be given" (which is printed on the voucher). So they were going to charge £50 for one battered haddock and one medium glass of Merlot. I said I didn't want "change": I wanted another voucher to the value of the remaining balance. The waiter spoke with the manager who agreed to give us a fresh voucher for £25. She was very apologetic but told us the policy of "no change" is commonplace in the hospitality sector. If it is, it needs to stop. This is just greedy. Be warned: avoid vouchers. Use cash (which are really vouchers anyway).

Excellent food. Batter on the fish was so light and not the least bit greasy. Homemade chips too. Cod Morney with poached egg and mashed potato and sauce. This was a starter, but I would say more a small meal. The poached egg was perfect.Staff very pleasant

A place that has been part of my life since childhood. Vibrant pub and bbq service, and if you are lucky a cricket game on the beach in front of the pub garden. Solid food menu and good selection of drinks. Dog friendly, sometimes too many for my liking, and the staff are hard working and know their stuff. Definitely worth a visit, and if it’s a sunny day then essential!

Very well run pub with sea views. Really excellent servers for our dinner. We had starters and mains (pictured) and chocolate crémeux and sticky toffee pudding for dessert (eaten too quickly for photos). Everything was delicious.

OK, it was near end of service. The bar tables were littered with used coffee cups. Service, go to the bar. Food great apart from "truffle fries" an aftertaste I just disliked. Fish and chips? Great. Watch, a service charge is put on automatically.

Have always wanted to visit this place and we weren't disappointed. We easily booked a table the night before online however we arrived 30 mins early and the staff had our table ready. Upstairs overlooking the bay. Wonderful. The menu is slightly orientated to seafood but still had enough choice for the non seafood lover. The choice of nibbles, starters, mains and desserts was simple but imaginative. Between the three of us we had a combination of nibbles, starters, main and dessert, including fish and meat dishes. All well presented, fresh and very tasty and filling. All the staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. A gratuity of 10% is automatically added to the bill..it should be more.Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you.

Lovely Inn, serves lunches and dinners. Also has a bar. Lunch menu is varied, includes vegan, dairy free and gluten free dishes. Outdoor area next to beach too and a separate, small, dog friendly dining room. Very friendly and helpful staff.

My wife and I were on holiday from USA and had a wonderful meal here, I’ll always remember it. Very nice setting, good view of the bay. I had fish and chips and they were great.

What a lovely setting. Views of the water from the table. Cullen Skink was excellent with nice crusty breads to go with it. The fish and chips however were very disappointing. The batter was very light but no flavour and sadly the fish was flavourless too. I heard lots of good things about the Ship Inn so I had to come and try it. If I was in the area again I would pop in again for the soup but not the fish and chips. A 10% service charge is a bit steep and the drinks were probably the most expensive I have ever seen. The 3 stars are for the soup none for the fish and chips and the alcohol prices.
