Not recommended... Thinks it's better than it actually is... food is good (but not great) and overpriced for what it is. This disappointment was compounded by very slow service and a drinks order being wrong. Overall, not a great experience and we won't be returning...

The food was lovely and the staff were great. However, our visit was let down by the surprise entrance of a huge dog.Had the group with the dog been seated out of the way, this may have been slightly less odd, but they were seated between two other groups, in the middle of the restaurant. The dog was not wearing anything to suggest it was a service dog. This seemed inappropriate for an evening meal in a fairly expensive restaurant. It would be appreciated if the website and other promotional material was updated to emphasise that this is a dog-friendly establishment, especially for those who would like a meal without animals around.

Food was decent but not great (especially for a Michelin-listed restaurant). Service left a bit to be desired. Recommend the fish and chips.

Thought the food was 5/5 however service was definitely 3/5 from a couple of the servers and even manager, however host at end was lovely and attentive. It was meant to be a romantic night of celebration for my partner and I, however felt like a number and rushed through the evening. Twice we have been here and same outcome each time, wouldn't be back, regardless of how nice the food is.

What a wonderful meal we enjoyed here. There was nothing to fault. I'd highly recommend. Our starters were scallops and calamari and unlike the Playfair restaurant the pervious evening who served my husband one teeny weeny, rubbery scallop, The Adamson served four succulent scallops. The calamari was also very good. My husbands steak was generous and cooked to perfection and so was my lobster risotto.James our waiter was so attentive, without going overboard.I'd highly recommend this restaurant.

White sangria is absolutely great! Had mussels as starter and steak as main. The food is tasty and very good portion. I was almost full just from the mussels. Downside is the place lacked vibes/atmosphere. The staff were polite but it all felt rushed and not genuine.

We stayed in St Andrews for a couple of days, we asked the concierge at our hotel to recommend a restaurant that takes dogs and he said he would recommend the Adamson (even if we didn't have a dog) so high praise indeed. It's obviously popular as we couldn't get a table the first night. We were really looking forward to the meal.We got a table in the bar on the second night On first impressions it was great, nice decor, nice atmosphere. We were greeted by a friendly blonde lady in the bar who welcomed us warmly, so far, so good. The cocktail I had was well made. However, after that it went steadily downhill. We had to ask for someone to take our food order. We ordered starters and mains. We then waited ...and waited. Eventually, on the verge of asking where our starters were, they arrived ... together with our mains. At no point did anyone come near us after that, not to check on the food or ask if we wanted another drink, we were completely ignored. We finished our food (mini loaf, olives, 2 lobster risotto) and it took over 10 minutes for someone to clear our plates. This despite us being literally yards from the bar. We were passed by the same staff on numerous occasions, each had tunnel vision. In fairness, the food itself was very good but the service was abysmal. I voiced my dissatisfaction with the staff member who offered a half hearted apology. He did take something off the bill for the lack of service which I did appreciate but I would much rather have paid full price and had an enjoyable experience.I'd like to think it was a one off as the place is busy, has positive reviews and the food was good. It may be worth another try but the service would have to be substantially better for me to recommend this restaurant.

Great cocktails! Try the white sangria! Even my white wine hating husband became a convert! Fitted us in last minute and staff were awesome... Even gave us a blanket when it started getting a little chilly outside.

Great find. Nice cocktail menu with very reasonable prices. Nibbles go well too. Do check it out!

Very nice lunch. We had 3 courses. Good value, nice setting. Very pleasant staff. My husband had the pork belly starter, unfortunately I didn't get a photo. Calamari, Steak Sandwich, Pea Risotto and Strawberry Cheesecake 🍓😋
