Arrived at 11.45 on a Sunday. Had to wait for bar person to get change for the till. Waited 40 mins for food and it was quiet not many customers at that time. Asked for my gravy to be in a separate container but no it arrived all over dinner with the waitress asking me if i wanted it changed knowing i had ordered it seperate, and before i said anything about it. Good meat but frozen veg 😔

On arrival our table wasn't available, so were seated at another table, near to an open door...chilly... on the thoroughfare from door to everywhere. Food wasn't great, chicken was dry, coleslaw had random HUGE chunks of onion through, no salad with scampi meal, steak pie apparently not as nice as before, drinks finished at starter and no offer of more(not that we shouted for more either). Food almost thrown at us, some in the passing, stressed waiting staff that had clearly had enough for the day. Then a 10 minute wait for dessert order to be taken .. .didn't bother just got the bill. All in all, not a great experience for a Mothers day treat.Far cry from previous visits, both on Food front and service front. Standards have slipped sadly.

Nice food, not more than average though. Service a bit slow, but very pleasant staff. Price reasonable.

Only popped in to let the wife use the toilet 🤣 and immediately felt at home in the warm cosy environment so stayed for a good couple of drinks...35ml measures at a great price!Sorry we couldn't stay for a meal but we WILL be back to soak up more of the fabulous atmosphere and chatty bar lady...

Called today and booked at table at 2.15 for myself and my father. Our family and friends used to visit regularly and this is the first time there in a while. The food and service is still excellent cannot fault anything. We will be back.

Loved it. We just walked in but was extremely lucky to get a table inside, although there is a large marquee in the car park as it's such a popular place. They had a three courses option on the menu including steak for £29 so we went for that.

A great selection of fabulous food and the quality is excellent. Also a relaxed atmosphere with very friendly staff. We had a fantastic 2nd visit.

Ale in bottles only but that's better than none. Food was nice and a good portion. The staff are polite and welcoming. Prices were rather reasonable considering there is no competition.

So it's the first day we are allowed into restaurants this year and we decided to try the Red Lion Inn since it had been a long time since we were last there. The service was good, and the food was excellent. Walking into the Inn you could smell food and it's was good to smell food we weren't cooking ourselves for a change. We didn't have to wait long for food which was good as we were hungry. The portions are really good. I ordered the gammon steak and I kid you not it was nearly the same size as the plate. We really enjoyed the food. The only thing I would say (and this is not something to deter you from going there, it was their first day back at work in months so there are going to be a few teething issues on reopening night) was that the draught cola was a bit on the weak side, forgot to give us a new set of cutlery for out main course and when we wanted to pay our bill there was no one around to take our money. All in all it was an enjoyable meal and we will be back.

Good food and doing well with friendly approach from staff in these Covid times. Half chicken excellent, kids meal good value, burgers OK but nothing special
