The Rule Pub Diner in Fife

I attended the rule today with my partner and were greeted right away and taking to a table. We were only going in for a quick refreshment but decided to stay for food and more drinks as the place had a great atmosphere and the food we seen passing us looked amazing which it was!! Amazing selection on the menu which catered for all! The beer battered onion rings were amazing and so were the burgers. Great choice of craft beers and staff were friendly and nothing was an issue for them. I look forward to returning for summer to enjoy the sun in the beer garden.

Amazing beer garden! Super friendly staff and dog friendly! What More can you ask for??By far the best place to go in St. Andrews - we returned again at night as we enjoyed it so much throughout the day & what an atmosphere! They had a DJ playing and the place was buzzing. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for either a bite to eat or a night out! Caters for everything! Special shout out to Mark, Omar & Andy for making us feel extra special on our visit 😉 10/10 for banter.Looking forward to our next visit!

Visited The Rule with friends to watch the rugby. Had a great table in front of a big screen. Food was decent value for money. Getting served at the bar can be problematic when busy. Seems the notion of giving people space in a queue is a open invitation for some ignorant others to get right to the bar to be served. Other than these individuals, The Rule is a great place to eat and drink at a reasonable price.

I have spent many evenings in The Rule as a student living in town. The burgers are delicious, and the service is quick. They offer a great variety of beers on tap, as well as having countless other drinks. I always go here with mates to watch football games or other sports events as there are many TVs around the place. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a proper pub.(Andy, Omar and the rest of the team are always friendly and pay great attention to the customer).

Decent atmosphere and food was nice, unfortunately they seemed very short staffed and the one girl serving tables for the whole bar was out of her depth. Forgot to order our drinks and get the bill when asked. Was just too busy for one poor person.

Lovely bar with good craft beers on tap, friendly staff and reasonably priced. Food menu looked good but didn't try anything. They know how to pour a good pint and keep their lines clean though. A good dimly lit place to get tipsy in!

Attended a Christmas Dinner at the Rule, all the staff were great! Andy did a great job making sure all guests got what the needed and that the planning process ran smoothly from the start. I really appreciate the care put into it from their part--made our evening that much better!! Food was fab & decorations were festive and fun!

What a brilliant pub in the heart of St Andrews. The staff were fantastic during our visit, very helpful and friendly. The menu has a huge range and the pizzas were spot on. Great range of craft beers and cocktails available and the atmosphere for the scotland football game was amazing. Looking forward to returning next time we’re in St Andrews.

From the staff to the food, everything was great, very polite and attentive. Our party of 5 all enjoyed the food and it was just a 15 min wait after the waiter took our order. Would defo go back

Dog friendly.Awesome ‘Secret garden’ out the back with covered booths for a good Coronavirus safe drinking session.Food is fairly basic but tastes great and is super value.Great bar, lively atmosphere, full of students even in the middle of January.Get in early if you want a table!Great selection of beers and wines, disappointing cider selection though.Reasonably priced, will be back for sure.
