One of the best battered haddock I've had in long while, reasonably priced, friendly staff and you can take your dog in as well. Only on holiday for a week, but would definitely recommend and next time we're back in the area, we will definitely return.

The only place serving hot food in town and management absolutely know it. 2 burgers and two lattes in paper cups (to sit outside) came to £41Only word for it is greed really.Gets two stars for not being awful when it came out.

The meal prices are high and top those in Edinburgh. For example Hake with curried potatoes for £30, pasta with smoked salmon for £20. Also chef is unwilling to make ANY substitutions ... I did not fancy the curried potatoes.Pushing the limits to serve all the wealthy second homers in Elie. Not great for those on normal means. This used to be a great scottish pub, I shall not be rushing back.

As far as I know it is still against the law to wander around inside a pub/restaurant when not wearing a mask. Having been in this place at lunchtime today it is obvious the owners and staff couldn't give a toss. The staff to be fair were all wearing masks but took no action against the stream of arrogant punters who think the law doesn't apply to them. Not once did we see the staff say either get your mask on or sit down. As my wife is currently on the very vulnerable scale, this was most disappointing. The good thing is we are not compelled to ever visit again given the staff care so little about either the law or their clientele.

Fantastic lunch with friends . Service could not have been better and the food amazing as it has been on our previous visits . This pub/ restaurant absolutely lives up to its excellent reputation

My wife and I were on holiday from USA and had a wonderful meal here, I’ll always remember it. Very nice setting, good view of the bay. I had fish and chips and they were great.

What a lovely setting. Views of the water from the table. Cullen Skink was excellent with nice crusty breads to go with it. The fish and chips however were very disappointing. The batter was very light but no flavour and sadly the fish was flavourless too. I heard lots of good things about the Ship Inn so I had to come and try it. If I was in the area again I would pop in again for the soup but not the fish and chips. A 10% service charge is a bit steep and the drinks were probably the most expensive I have ever seen. The 3 stars are for the soup none for the fish and chips and the alcohol prices.

We had a wonderful stay here. Ellie is a very special place to us and we enjoy visiting for walks along the beach and swimming in the sea. We have been a few times to Ellie now but this was the first time staying in the hotel. We throughly enjoyed our stay. Food was delicious and whiskey sipping next to the open fire was glorious. Loved our room with stunning views looking out over the beach, very romantic waking up to this in the morning.

Amazing food, in a beautiful location. We stopped off for a quick lunch after walking some of the coastal path with our wee dog. The terrace across the road is sheltered and perfect for rainy days.I had the Cullen skink which was hands down the best I’ve ever had, my partner had the burger which she said was also delicious.Looking forward to coming back here one evening to try their indoor menu

Any place that lets my dog in is fine by me. Reasonably priced and we got a seat by the fire, handy as the east coast wind started to cut us to the bone. Young, helpful staff and it was ticking over nicely, no dramas. Great view over the harbour and an outdoor terrace as well.
