They were out of a lot of things on the menu for mains and when we asked for the sweet menu we were told they only had one sweet left which was strange for 7.00 at night .Small white wine was expensive. Won't be returning.

Fabulous meal here today after playing golf, friendly staff, excellent food… lamb cutlets and pork loin, even had a treat for the dog. Highly recommend. Thank you

It's a really cosy setting nice for a drink and can take the dog in, food OK not great my chicken burger was tasteless! they were obviously short staffed very busy and slow service! I will go back and try again I'm putting it down to covid times 👍hopefully next time will be better

Had a good meal here -- smoked salmon, venison, and sticky toffee pudding. All of it was very well prepared. There were a number of items on the menus that weren't available when I dined there, but the supply chain being the way it is, I wasn't too surprised. It is a warm, inviting place with a bar to the side. There is a fireplace with cushy chairs where you can sit with a drink and ponder life. I enjoyed my meal here immensely.

Had a nice meal a few days ago.Food was warm, cooked & presented well.Hand cut chips were great! Surroundings were warm! Xmas light/trees looked lovely! Price was good! Everything was brought in a timely manner by staff..In particular the young lass with the braces on her teeth was lovely, smiley & polite.Only reason I dropped a star was the fact my eyes swole a little - as with the lovely low ceilings combined with tea light candles, lots of them lit, like many, sadly for me the fumes from those sometimes get to me so instead of having the couple of intended drinks after meal we left. Tea lights Looked lovely tho.

Visited on the13th November after a long walk round the pillars and the estate….. great warm hospitality from the two Lassies … really accommodating.. my partner has a few food intolerances and the chef was incredibly helpful…sat in front of the wood burning heater…. the food was 10 out of 10… really added to a perfect day out. Will be back again.

Had an amazing lunch won in a competition. Staff were friendly and helpful. The decor is rural and comfortable.

A very expensive waste of time and money. Over ÂŁ40 for a very bad experience! Although we were the only couple in the dining area there were other diners outside but waitress initially said they were not busy.It took 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive; starter appeared after 30 minutes and was very disappointing - pallid soup and nachos with no sour cream although there did seem to be a dollop of cottage cheese. When our main course had not arrived after an hour we started to get angry. Waitress kept asking if we would like anything else. We were finally asked if we would like to cancel the main course, but it was just being plated up - very optimistic. My husband couldn't eat his meal when it finally arrived. Two sausages looked underdone and one overdone. My dish had spent too long in the fryer!A gentleman who was seated nearby having a drink contacted the owner whom he seemed to know and passed on our name and phone number. He told us the owner would contact us next day - it never happened.A place best avoided.

Wonderful experience last week at The Stag Inn. We arrived early in the season so I am glad we were able to get a table. This traditional Scottish pub has all the charm you could imagine and the staff was professional and nice. Anticipating our needs, drink orders and the food was so good. Smoked Macaroni and Cheese and Steamed Halibut cooked to perfection.Would definitely return without hesitation and happy to recommend.
