The Tailend Restaurant and Fish Bar in Fife

Just arrived in St.Andrews was really hungry and wanted to try this place after reading reviews. Came in about half past 2 in the afternoon it wasn't busy only a few tables occupied, there was 5 of us wanting a table and to be seated. A rather rude guy came over and said how many people for a table I said 5 then he said "actually we are sorry we have a large order of 60 people coming in sorry". They could have put a notice up stating this, he didn't seem interested or apologetic when he said sorry it was more a sarcastic comment. No interest in customers a horrible experience. I am glad I didn't eat here! Went to 'CROMARS' only a 2 minute walk down the street. If you want a good chip shop experience CROMARS know how to treat their customers well. You will not be disappointed.

Tailend is a popular restaurant in St Andrews. I went on a Tuesday and it was completely packed, I highly recommend you book in advance. The food is cooked to perfection, every bite is full of flavor. The portion size is generous and the presentation is nice. The service was good and the atmosphere was very alive. Great place to go for fresh seafood. Highly recommend

We ordered scallops and it was delicious! The fish was fresh and really good.

Great place for fish and chips! We had the haddock and also grilled halibut. The onion rings are recommended. Finished with Baileys Cheesecake!

Would you like you fish grilled, battered or breaded? Here they do it all, and it's all tasty. Order off the specials menu for fish of the day (battered halibut pictured here), and they have a fish shop at the front. The grilled sea bass with herby potatoes is to die for!

Great haddock fish&chips..( can have cod or other fish)dine in or take out. Have beer& wine. Lots of other fish / seafood entre offerings. Very casual dining, lots of menu items. Fish & chips a very popular item in the area.

Top tier fish and chips! A must visit when in St Andrews, was absolutely delicious.Also, they fry their fish and chips in vegetable oil for anyone with certain dietary requirements! 😊

Very poor portions only got a handful of chips with our meal for the price it's ridiculous, also the kitchen was very overcrowded and unsightly to watch to many people and nobody seemed to be doing anything. Very disappointed won't be visiting again

Absolutely fantastic! We turned up without a booking and weren't sure if we would be able to get a table. (If not, we would join the take away line and found somewhere else around the town to sit.) Staff squeezed us in one as it was available for an hour which was perfect! Delicious food and amazing service. Highly recommend. 10/10
