We had a table of 4 booked for 6pm today. We're a group of friends that haven't seen each other since the pandemic so had been looking forward to all meeting and going for some good food and drinks.Toni Macaroni was the wrong choice. Part of our first course came at 625pm, while the remainder came for my friend at 640pm. We waited 55 minutes for our main course to arrive, however noticed other tables, atleast 6, up and leave. One woman in tears.Drink orders were wrong, staff were flapping about clearly stressed, kitchen staff were clearly annoyed and stressed (evident by their language), food was sitting under the heat lamps for ages and I do mean over 15 minutes. The front of house manager (tall thin guy with a beard and glasses) was flapping about doing what he could but the place was going down like the Titanic. The host at reception, kept on taking walk ins when the place was already full. It was clear there were more customers than staff.6 tables in 55 minutes left your establishment tonight due to bad management. It was unbelievable. The amount of food wasted due to people leaving because of ridiculous delays in between courses was unreal. Thankfully, there was no charge for our drinks and first course. We went to the Sweet Chestnut instead, where we saw a number of your customers all divulging the same horror story to staff of the Sweet Chestnut.Word of mouth is very important for a business, and unfortunatly there are very little good things to say about Tony Macaroni Dunfermline.

" Sorry " the food that I received was dry could have done with more sauce and it also could have been warmer tasty enough though. The service also could have been better hence my wife and I got fed up waiting for the sweet menu. We have been here a few times and it's been good, but in all honesty it seems to have slipped sadly much to my disappointment as we love Italian cuisine once again very sadly disappointed as we had been looking forward to this outing.

Do not go here in a large party! Waitress added things to order we didn’t order! Food arrived 10-15 minutes apart for each dish (9 of us). Chips were half cooked, sauce for steak arrived when steak dish was eaten! Poor service and waitress argued that she had taken payment twice! Man in charge failed to sort out and had to be refunded by their Head Office! Went totally downhill compared to how it used to be!

Came here for daughters birthday meal as she picked it. Food was absolutely terrible. Pizza floating with grease, chips and garlic bread undercooked. Signature dish macaroni was awful. Microwave meals are better than this. Italians would be furious with these lot. Staff could be more vigilant. Standing there talking flirting with each other, while trying to get their attention. Probably because they automatically get tips added in bill so don't have to work hard or care. Also one female staff member was dressed very unprofessional. Very poor. Will never be back to Tony macaroni

Table of 8 went for birthday meal, place was really busy. Took a while to get served but food good. Far to many bookings taken for the amount of staff they had working. Staff struggling to keep up with demands from tables but they just smiled and got on with it. Not enough staff gives you bad customer service as they don't have time to attend to you.

If it was possible to leave no stars for our experience at Tony Mac's in Dunfermline then I would have. We booked the restaurant for a birthday meal and had made the reservation earlier that week, it would have been better if they had called and cancelled the reservation rather than allow our visit to go ahead. As soon as we arrived we handed over a birthday cake to a member of staff to bring out later, he seemed annoyed at this even though we had asked about it on the phone and been assured it was ok.It took half an hour before our drinks order was taken, this was only done after we had to ask a server ourselves. When we asked if we could order food at the same time we were told no and that someone would be over to take our food order soon.We got our drinks and 10 minutes later our food order was taken, the server then returned to say there were no pizza available so half our order was changed. This was disappointing but we accepted this, wanting to enjoy our night. In the time it took for our food to come an hour had passed since we ordered, tables around us were dropping like flies, the near empty restaurant was turning people away (the lucky ones) and tables around us who had ordered were refusing to pay bills due to the poor food or leaving as no food had arrived.Eventually our food arrived, we were hopeful but all of our pasta dishes were bland, the risotto was inedible and tasted like plain rice, completely solid and oddly very white. All other pasta tasted as though it had been microwaved and honestly you would have been better cooking at home! I have attached a photo of macaroni, tony macaroni's signature dish which wasn't even macaroni and was bland, watery and the pasta overcooked.Whilst we picked at our food, staff were arguing, tables continued to leave and the kitchen looked in complete chaos, the atmosphere was tense and not helped by the incredibly loud club music that was playing which meant we had to shout to be heard by each other. We decided rather than make ourselves ill to take our cake and leave, we did not pay the bill and the server was very understanding. I honestly felt awful for them. I asked what was going on and one server said they had been crying the other had tears in their eyes. This place honestly would be better closing than running like this, its horrible for customers who are paying for a good night out and even worse for the poor staff who serve terrible, late, cold food and have to constantly explain half the menu isn't available. This review is very long but if it is read by Tony Macaroni head office, the conditions under which this restaurant is operating is truly appalling, either stop taking bookings or cook and serve the food as it should be. This used to be a lovely place but we truly felt like we were in a episode of kitchen nightmares.

You expect an Italian restaurant to be able to cook pizza properly.... pizza was swimming in grease and water. The attitude from the staff and kitchen has just assured that we will not be back. Shame, as it used to be a half decent place for a nice meal.

The service was extremely slow, we ended up being there for over 3 hours, and not because we were having a good time. Food was passable, you get what you pay for in these franchise type places. However, everything was done at the pace of a sedated snail, despite the restaurant being half empty when we arrived. Parts of orders forgotten about, other parts taking 45 mins plus to arrive. It is simple, if you are short of staff take less bookings.

We ordered an expensive takeaway for 4 people and ended up putting almost all of it in the bin. The first thing I noticed was that my meal the Parmagiana di melanzane had no tomato sauce or cheese on it, it was just as pictured below. I phoned, complained and received a refund for the dish. Unfortunately I didn't realise the rest was almost as bad. The chips were soggy, the main dishes were tasteless, and the bruschetta pomodoro had so few tomatoes that it only covered one slice of the three pieces of bread. We ended up filling our food compost bin with it all. Very disappointing. Our first and last meal with Tony Macaroni.
