Superb food, great service and very comfy beds at this family run restaurant with rooms. We find an excuse to stay whenever we are driving up Scotland! Thanks once again, Alison and Fabrice.

This is a good restaurant with rooms. The food is really tasty and the staff are attentive, efficient and charming. On the whole the decor is pleasant but I have a couple of observations. I would not recommend room 3. It is dominated but a partition which cuts off a corner of the room for a small shower enclosure. We asked to change which was no problem and got superior room number 1 which was spacious with 3 windows and a big bathroom with a roll top bath. Definately worth the £50 extra. Finally they have replaced the sofas in the bar with a further table and chairs which means there is nowhere comfortable for overnight guests to sit. This is a nice place but with a few adjustments it could be exceptional.

Fantastic food and service and great comfy rooms. Stayed during a long distance bike ride and couldn't have been more helpful with bikes etc. Best meal I've had in a long time, if not ever! Worth 10 stars 🌟

We arrived at 2 pm when kitchen was closing but they were so kind that they let us dine. Much appreciated.Food was superb. I hadn't had such an amazing dish in a long time: slow-cooked beef shoulder, grain mustard mash and stem broccoli. Meat was so tender that it melted in my mouth. Simply succulent.100% recommended

Perfect in every way. From the warm welcome to the best wishes upon departure the barley bree was faultless. The bed was very comfortable and the shower powerful. Dinner was very tasty & just the right amount of food. Even not being allowed a glass of wine due to Scottish covid laws did not dampen the experience. Breakfast was amazing. Fresh and full of local produce. Cannot wait to return. Thanks to all the staff at The Barley Bree
