Blackbird Inn in Perth & Kinross

Found this place late in the day and it really was a last resort. We ate in the bar area which was an absolute dive. If we weren't so hungry we would have turned around and walked right out. Decor was very dated, it was brightly lit, no music, no atmosphere. Food was massively overpriced and the menu very basic. Traditional pub grub circa 1985. It was OK - a bit over cooked but the portions were big. Service was good. Would not return even if we were desperate. I still can't believe the prices. £17 for a scampi and chips or ham salad. Outrageous. Paid less in a 4 star hotel.

Old fashioned yes. But that's not a bad thing. Lunches very good and reasonably priced. Went several times when I was on holiday in area

Less than impressed by this place. Stayed at the lovely caravan park adjacent and popped in to have a pint before deciding if it was suitable for an evening meal with the kids.No.The smell of stale urine as we entered should have told us to stay away. The lack of interest in taking our drinks order then having to wait for it until the horseracing had finished put us clean off.A tired old boys boozer that needs an overhaul in decor and service.My advice, walk the half mile to the Alyth Hotel.

Stayed at lovely 5 Roads Caravan Park perfect Inn right outside -disappointing experience barman couldn't really be less interested my normal usual drink was not as it should have been?Food was quite nice - but no options of pudding - she took placemats away shut at 8pm!! A man's pub we were told? Such a shame a perfect place that would go hand in hand with caravan park
