Stunning settings. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Traditional interiors. Double room is spacious, though the wardrobe and draws could be upgraded in the traditional style to include more space. Overall would go back, especially as its only ten minutes from Glenshee ski centre.

We've just spent New Year's Eve here and it was brilliant!I normally don't like New Year's Eve so decided to travel up to Scotland to stay in Dalmunzie Castle. They had a package for new year's eve that also included the 2nd January (incidentally my birthday). The hotel is charming and the staff were excellent. It is small enough to be able to meet the other guests and spend time chatting by the log/coal fires dotted around. The food was superb. Each meal well presented with excellent service. The staff are a credit to the hotel. For the more active, there's no shortage of things to do. My wife and I walked up the mountain visible from our breakfast table. It was a challenge (12kms and 400m ascent) but not one an averagely fit person couldn't manage. If you have driven here and brought a mountain bike, you'll be spoilt for places to go.The hotel laid on a number of events (COVID friendly), including a falconry display which was brilliantly interactive. If you want to get away from it all and have a cracking break, Dalmunzie is the place to go.I need to give special recognition to all of the staff. You are superb and definitely made our stay so enjoyable.

Fabulous location. Welcoming and helpful staff. Cosy atmosphere with wonderful food. A little tired in places, nothing a little investment can't overcome. A definite recommend for those wanting something different.

Brilliant for a family 9 holes. The boys aged 9 and 12 loved it. Mummy was caddy for the youngest. Managed a break in the weather late afternoon. Fantastic views, challenging course. Friendly reception staff good value for money.

Dalmunzie is puching a bit above their weight. The hotel booking experience was quite easy and nice. GM was very helpful and accomodating. The hotel itself and the location was unique. The lobby, seating area, the rooms etc make you feel you are staying at a (wealthy) friend's residence, rather than a hotel, for us it was a great feeling. Despite the menu is a bit limited, the service, the taste and the presentstion of the dishes were very nice. Good whisky selection to enjoy after meals by the fireplace. You can take long walks in the surrounding area. I loved the hotel but it definetely would benefit from a renovation without ruining the soul and the atmosphere, otherwise I fear that the hotel could not be enjoyed as much in the coming years.

This is in need of refurbishment, we stayed in room Rattray and that room was shoddy and worn. The staff were very friendly and the meals excellent. We did not feel this was worthy of the price asked and the 1 mile road to it is horrible your car will bottom out unless you drive with your car half on the grass edge strip.

Lovely location , lots of character to the hotel, the hotel is very clean, the staff are all first class, professional throughout our stay. Drinks are expensive, and you don’t know the prices until you get your final bill because throughout your stay everything is added daily. Food is also expensive be prepared to pay on average each evening £50-£60 per person , average cost of meal per person is £45 , so depending on what you drink can cost you a pretty penny. One lime and Soda is £4.50, a bottle of pale Ale £6.95, average price per bottle of wine £50. Do not buy soup and a sandwich from the bar menu , it literally is two slices of bread slapped together with a bit of ham and mustard on it, and a small bowl of soup £11.00, retail cost a pound at the most.If you do buy food from the bar menu , there is no table to eat it, you have to eat it in the lounge areas with low or no tables. I suggest this is rectified and a dining area for food purchased from bar menu made available.Enjoyed our stay very much and do recommend that people visit, just be prepared for extra costs.

I travelled to Scotland with my father 2 years ago early spring, we rent a car and went north to Explorer the highlands. We stayed at different hotels every night, this place was absolutely amazing. Beautiful walking trails and easy enough for my father to walk with me, stunning view any direction you looked.I loved seeing my father so satisfied, happy and calm. The staff was so sweet and really took care of us, The food was delicious. We only stayed one night because it was our last day before travelling back home so we had to go up really early before breakfast. But The Lady was awake, gave us breakfast and drinks in each bag to bring with us in the car, The sandwich was absolutely perfect and delicious. We didnt expect her to do this for us. So grateful she made time for us, really sweet.Thank you for such an amazing day and night. We would recommend this place to anyone and would love to Come back again if the future allows it

The highlight of our Scottish trip so far. Staff are lovely and accommodating - we even got an upgrade to our room - huge four poster bed and an amazing view. Dinner was delicious, as was breakfast. Would definitely recommend!
