We only ate here for my partners birthday and we were not disappointed. The location, staff, service and most if all the food was outstanding. We would highly recommend.

A beautiful hotel, friendly staff, excellent restaurant, nice spa BUT........Exceptionally slow service( we had to wait until a 4 to check in- we were shown to the bar ,but weren't offered a complimentary drink while we waited)You couldn't change in the SPA the changing rooms were closed- you had to change in your room and walk over in your robes!!The door lock didn't work properly ( we had to go to reception every day!)The room safe didn't workLots of trivial niggles that you didn't expect of a 5 Star Hotel

Exceptional afternoon tea with impeccable service. Views over Loch Faskally are beautiful. Wonderful massage at the Woodland Spa. Only negative was the spa changing rooms being closed due to Covid, hopefully this policy will be reviewed and reversed soon as restrictions are eased.

Setting is stunning...staff really nice...however my wife says I'm nitpicking...I felt there was a series of niggly issues that took the edge off giving it 5 star...what I mean is..if it was a premier Inn ( no disrespect to Premier Inn!) I would think fair enough I can accept that...but at £150 a night per person I'm expecting a minimum high standard!Unfortunately the first niggle was serious to me as I'm a dedicated NESPRESSO fan/addict!!The room had a quality NESPRESSO coffee machine but had non NESPRESSO substitute capsules!!!!... waahh!!At the Brasserie I had the starter of scallops presented on a clam shell with puff pastry...but containing one clam!!!For a main I had monkfish tail...although tasty it was exceptionally small!...( ive been to Tom Kitchin and their food was more!)...had to get fries to balance it.Room bathroom had a radiator that was hot at the bottom and cold at the top...it was just needing bled.Bathroom door sticks on the tiles.....as I say nothing serious just daft niggly stuff that I wouldn't expect from a 5 star hotel!!!Could of been down to covid/ lockdown etcAlthough I have to give a big shout out to LJ the massage technician who gave me an exceptional full body massage along with Anne Marie who gave my wife the same amazing massage!!!I maybe pernickety but I was so looking forward to our 3rd wedding anniversary flawless 2 days!!Another shout out to Darren the barman who made me an amazing cocktail!!!

Fonab made a beautiful first impression from a good looking building to a helpful groundsman. The welcome at reception was genuine and the helpfulness and banter of Neil made us feel at home straightaway. Great to be shown round the hotel immediately and then you can make the most of your stay. The views are amazing. The rooms could not be faulted and the bed was comfortable and shower powerful. Yea and coffee plentiful and fresh milk available from reception.Spa was good but wee bit of finessing needed with staff wearing no masks. This should be pointed out when booking so you don’t feel awkward asking for a mask wearing therapist. LJ and her team however were excellent, very friendly and their treatments were relaxing and great value for money. We would recommend the spa and these lovely ladies. From a fabulous afternoon tea, superb evening meal and sumptuous breakfast ..the brasserie was excellent. The staff are so attentive, helpful and discreet. The Brasserie should take a bow!Negatives….a couple of small things but again it’s how problems are solved that set you apart and for Fonab staff nothing is a problem and it shows. Thank you.So yes we enjoyed our stay and are we coming back? Definitely - and it will be a longer stay next time. Thanks Fonab you have Scottish hospitality done to perfection and we thank you for a fab experience ❤️

Luxurious castle in beautiful surroundings. The food was incredible - had the gin afternoon tea, chateaubriand dinner and continental breakfast. The service was impeccable and all the staff where incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful - we stayed in a signature castle suite. Huge king size bed, big bathroom and great selection of amenities provided. Had a treatment at the spa and the beauty therapist gave great advice. The spa facilities are excellent.

Stayed here on Dec 13, 2021 for out wedding anniversary and had a great stay. I've always wanted to stay at a castle in Scotland and this was a perfect opportunity.Overall: Amazing would stay here again! Staff are very friendly. The castle itself is updated so rooms and restaurant are modern while preserving a historical exterior.Atmosphere: beautiful, quiet and comfortable, and a perfect place to spend to celebrate a wedding anniversary or a couples getaway. Had a perfect idyllic view over Loch FaskallyRooms: we stayed in a spacious comfortable room with a comfortable king-size bed. More than enough for the two of us. bathroom was also spacious with a lighted mirror to apply makeup. Shower temperature was perfect and was large enough for my husband who is 6'2"Food: we had an evening meal at the restaurant and breakfast as well. the restaurant overlooked the Loch and was really romantic. We had one of the best waiters during our stay in scotland who made perfect food recommendations and wine pairing. Food was FANTASTIC. had a more fine dining atmosphere in the evening.Spa: we spent some time at the spa the next day. The hottub wasn't fully working yet but we were allowed to use the pool, hottub, steam room, dry sauna, and aromatherapy rooms before our services. We were only there with another couple so it made it easy to keep social distancing and maintain privacy and space. I had a fantastic massage and facial with Leslie and would come back again.Cleanliness: very clean. We felt very comfortable with how they followed cleaning protocols for covid here.

Amazing Hogmanay experience. Fabulous staff, lovely surroundings- highly recommend staying in a lodge. Food was delicious and beautifully presented- especially the puddings!😋

Excellent hotel in beautiful surroundings. This offers real luxury in many ways and the dinner offerings involve some very serious cooking. Service very pleasant though some strains showing in current climate. Spa is very pleasant though a little bare for my taste. Loved outdoor jacuzzi and resistance pool. Indoor pool was rather too cool I thought. The bar is really rather classy with excellent views. Outdoor drinking and dining areas lovely though those sensitive to traffic noise may find the nearby A9 noticeable when outdoors. Overall, a seriously good hotel: expensive but worth it I think.

Wow! This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Attention from staff was minimal but everything was quietly supplied for you. The views over the lake were magnificent with cloud hovering over the peaks. A few chickens roamed in the car park first thing. The hotel has approximately 40 rooms and the views were from the hotel bar and dining room. The food was outstanding with flavour in everything. A stunning hotel. I hope one day we'll be back.
