Macdonald Loch Rannoch Hotel Restaurant in Perth & Kinross

We had a fantastic stay at the Loch Rannoch Hotel. All the staff were so pleasant and helpful with a special thanks to Tom, Lloyd and the leisure facility team. The new climbing wall was great and will be even better when fully installed. The location is outstanding with so many walks and adventures to go on. Well behaved dogs are made to feel at home and you can even have them sit with you during breakfast in the bar area. Can't wait to return!

Enjoyed 2 nights at Loch Rannoch hotel on experience 2 break. Lovely afternoon tea with freshly baked scones and cakes. Room was spacious and had recently been redecorated and refurbished. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed use of swimming pool and hire of electric bikes which were fairly new. Excellent breakfast. Unfortunately dining room not open , ate in bar and unable to book spa treatment due to staffing issues..

Had a few days away in this lovely hotel and spa. Staff couldn’t do enough for us. Food was great and, despite Covid depleting their numbers, the service in all the facilities and restaurants was first class. We will look forward to a return trip soon. Thank you all for making our trip so enjoyable.

excellent, beautifully decorated rooms. Staff were friendly, helpful, but a little short handed, so seemed a bit stressed at times. The food was very good, and plenty of it. Tasty and well presented. Location amazing, helped by the great weather. Spa and Bike services were fab too. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Had an excellent stay at Loch Rannoch Hotel. The rooms are cosy and very comfortable, with stunning views of Loch Rannoch. The pool and spa area is very relaxing, and so nice to sit in the sauna and steam room on a cold day, or after a long walk.The bar area is a nice setting to sit and relax with a drink,while admiring the views.Food is very good, especially the breakfast set up. Plenty of choice, nicely set out, and the service is outstanding.Can I specifically mention how pleasant, helpful and welcoming the following staff made me feel, Mr Moldova, Mr South Africa and the other Mr Scotland at breakfast. They were all very on the ball regarding service, nothing went a miss, obviously experienced guys delivering a high professional standard that never went unnoticed.The reception staff were all lovely too.I'll certainly be returning again to this hotel for a relaxing break.Many thanks for to all the staff for your hospitality.

The rooms and central areas have been nicely renovated, however the food was of a lower quality and more expensive than average pub food and the shower, WiFi and room phone didn’t work in our room, which are quite basic needs for a hotel stay. The hotel at present is understaffed, and staff that were there seemed rushed off their feet. Breakfast was good and varied. We enjoyed the pool, steam and sauna and the views were great. The hotel has lots of potential but the basics need to be worked on.

Fantastic place. Really enjoyed our visit.There were lovely walks to go on with lots of nature to see from red squirrels to the resident wild red stags.The staff were very curtious and very friendly.Food in the restaurant was very fresh, lovely and reasonably priced.Nice to sit and relax in front of the fires in an evening enjoying a drink.Also nice that dogs were welcome in the bar area.Would definitely recommend this place and will be visiting again.

We'd booked two days of relaxation so using the pool was one of main reasons for booking. On arrival informed pool was closed until further notice.Turned out other advertised activities were not ready either, so not a great start. However, we made the most of it and bar and restaurant staff were excellent. On final day the shower had no hot water so not a great ending. 😂 Advice- don't advertise what you can't provide. 👍

I chose this hotel because of the spa and to make use of the pool with my two children. The website indicated it had recently been renovated - this was not the case and was very tired looking. The pool was very cold, and had to be shut down on our last day because it was below temperature. I understand that these things can happen, and I was very understanding at the time -but looking back at the website feel this was very mis-leading. The hotel and restaurant parts were very nice, and in an amazing setting.

Stay for 3 night over New Year, food was excellent, staff were very attentive and friendly. Large spacious drawing room / bar, ideal for lounging during the day or evening. Spa was great with a good variety of treatments and facilities.
