An amazing experience in this hotel, the menu and food is amongst the best I have come across. Great remote location. Really enjoyed our weekend there and we're well looked after by the staff and owners.

Truly one of the most remarkable meals in our 5 years of nonstop global adventure. Flavourfully prepared. Authenticity with enough creative restraint to allow the locally sourced ingredients to shine. Steph is a chef who has the courage and talent to be true to herself, Bravo! Kudos to Scott’s front of house.A few of my notes from last night’s meal:Pumpkin Hummus, now this is what pumpkin actually tastes like!Everything about this… stellar! Citrus and Riesling cured Monkfish, Smoked Crème Fraiche, Pickled Fennel, Chili, Ginger and Citrus Dressing -Spiced Beetroot flavours subtle, yet immense impact. Hauntingly memorable.Duck without the quack, tender and flavourful. That REDUCTION on the slow roasted lamb, Wow!Frozen Apple Martinis, just the right about of slush!oh… that moist Chocolate Tart’s Lime Caramel and Esspresso SyrupPavlova was crisp, even on a rainy night!Lanark Blue Errineton Cheese for the win!

Beautiful gem! We only came for dinner but from start to finish it was a treat. The staff were so friendly and chatty and the food was outstanding.

Visited last September just before restrictions came back in. Scott and Steph are an amazing team. Perfect hosts, fabulous food. And we loved meeting Ian the deer with his mum aunties sisters and cousins ❤️. Booked to return on 31 May can’t wait!

We have been coming here for at least the last 5 years, Steph and Scott have always shown excellent hospitality and food but year on year it gets better and this year was no exception.Treated as welcome friends and rising to the challenge of making a dairy free menu they truly excelled and the addition of Felix to the team has raised the service from excellent to outstanding. Many many thanksArmande and David

Had an absolutely lovely stay here. The tranquility in this place is amazing created by the views and the lack of TV - Wifi, a real tech detox. Steph and Scott offer the best service and the food is out of this world. Moor or Rannoch makes for a really special stay.

Having had dinner here a few times we have always loved the place, However this year when visiting i was taken a back at the price increase from last year. Also my Beef was very tough, The waitress dropped a glass of Rose wine over us, A small apology was offered from the waitress but still paid full price for the next glass even though our clothes had to be dry cleaned.

Undeniabley the best resteraunt we have ever visited. We came here for our ten year wedding anniversary for our celebratory meal, the staff were amaizing, they made a huge effort to decorate our table (my wifes suprise to me) with our wedding decorations! The service and food were above and beyond 5* and the friendly warm atmosphere was incredible. We both highly reccomend this hotel and would love to come back and stay full board on our next anniversary, we only live 30 miles up the road and to find this hidden gem is a delight. Well done and thankyou to all who made our anniversary an unforgettable, magical evening.

Wife and I needed a Getaway after several months of hard work and grind.Moor of Rannoch was just what we needed. Great food, comfortable surroundings and looked after by a pair of lovely, knowledgable and interesting hosts.Close to some great walks, charming railway backdrop and the feeling of isolation which we both love. We found it the perfect place to unwind, get outdoors and spoil ourselves all in 36 hours. I would sum it up personally as somehow managing to find the best bits about a michelin star restaurant, a boutique hotel and a youth hostel and amalgamate them into one. Classy, friendly and relaxing.Would recommend travelling by train to get into the feel of the place but certainly not essential as we took the car and found it great. Many thanks to you both for a weekend to repeat!Andrew and Katie Shepherd
